For about 10 years, VU + solo worked in my house and it had open pli 2.1 on it, I wanted to update it but did not save the old image, and the new one was not installed. I want to ask for help so that someone explains to me what I'm doing wrong.

Hi.
If you used an online update, you did it wrong.
A lot has changed in the firmware of Linux set-top boxes in 10 years. I think that even the formatting (partition) of the internal flash drive has changed. Not only the core of the Linux system, but also many modules and libraries have changed. Updating online, for such a very old firmware in your case, will logically not work.
You have to completely flash the new firmware into the set-top box. Try it here: https://openpli.org/download/vuplus/ - you have to choose the right firmware ! Check whether your set top box is really Vu+Solo and not, for example, Vu+SoloSE. And then... try to flash new firmware... with the help of a USB key if I'm not mistaken... or you can find the flash procedure anywhere on the internet.
It was also a mistake that you did not create a flood data backup. If the set-top box is still active, but Enigma2 does not work, and the FTP connection works, you can try to back up at least your channel lists. But even that probably won't work correctly in the new firmware (I mean the old data backup), because the file format for the channels or the EPG file format has probably changed - in such a long time. Therefore, the best way is a complete flash of your device, with new firmware (if you were used to OpenPLi, you can use OpenPLi again).

nfi is a dreambox format.
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

So your problem is probably hardware ? Try flashing the bootloader in your Vu+Solo. Maybe this will help: https://blackhole-co...-updgrade.4358/ However, in my opinion, the error occurred in the hardware / electronics of the device. If you flashed correctly and if none of the available Enigma2 distributions (ATV, PLi, BlackHole, etc.) work, then the error is probably at the HW level. So if the electronics are damaged, then no bootloader will save the bad hardware.
The RS-232 serial interface is a nice thing, but flashing with it can take a long time. Although the new versions of RS-232 are very fast, it's still not enough speed in my opinion, compared to USB flash .
RS-232 is usually only used for device startup diagnostics. Linux boot (or bootloader) problems and status can be diagnosed via the serial interface. You can use, for example, the PuTTY application with a terminal-like connection via the serial port. You can also try this diagnostics via the serial interface. Maybe you will discover the cause of the problem.
See also this discussion, because allegedly, there were also some "clones" (fakes) of this Vu+ device, similar to the case of Drambox devices: https://blackhole-co...uo-clone.12815/
