azman has agreed to take over the collection of Polish EPG.

The result of his efforts can be downloaded/imported from today.

 

The azman sources are added to the rytec.sources.xml file.

But it will be a couple of days before this change will appear on the feed of the images.

If you want to check out this new source, you can download the rytec.sources.xml file from: https://github.com/d...tec.sources.xml

and copy this file to the /etc/epgimport/ folder on your receiver.

 

Deselect the Rytec Polish sources and select the azman Polish sources.

And import.

 

I will keep the rytec sources for Poland (and the corresponding XMLTV files) alive for another month to give everybody the chance to update.

Basic - Includes EPG for all SAT PL channels from 13E and 19.2E as well as Cable and Terrestrial TV; (198 channels)

Additional - Other PL channels from other SAT positions and what I decided to have from foreign channels; (14 channels)

IPTV - Contains EPG for some IPTV PL channels, broadcasts from YT and channels from WP Pilot and Telewizja Online; (70 channels)

Radio - Contains EPG of Radio PL from 13E and 19.2E and some radio streams from the network; (72 channels)

 

 

The main source of EPG is the "WP Program TV" page, what is not there is downloaded from other sites.

 

The primary source of reference for IPTV channels are satellite channels.

I don't know what's up, but it always says that 0 events imported. I selected only azman Basic and even restarting receiver doesn't help.

Sorry for the basic question.

Do we have to manually replace your xml file or EPGImport is able to update its sources by itself? It seems to be the first option because in the last few days I haven't the polish channels any longer.

There have been a lot of changes on the transponders of Polish platforms recently.

A large number of channels has been transferred to new transponders, therefore the references of these channels have also changed.

 

I try to keep these changes in my azman.channels.xml file up to date.

You can compare your references with those included in the list.

To get EPG for Polish channels, you must have the latest version of the EPG Importer plugin, as already mentioned by colleague @doglover, and select the appropriate sources.

There is no need to replace any files, everything is implemented in the plugin.

There has been a correction of references for IPTV channels that have their equivalents in DVB-T terrestrial transmission.

These channels were assigned references of these transfers.

 

Please update your bouquet with these TVP3 regional broadcasts.

Now it dosen't work that way it is is wrong now, it is not a corrention. You just deleted correct references. Add a second refference for DVB-T, but never delete refference that are activley in use from 6 years now. Since I introduced them. Those refeference were seperate as for IPTV services from many important reasons for example a seprete picon. Links are still valid and not geoblocked, so they are also listed in sepret therd on forum here. You also posting not releted channles that are irrelevent here. Just corrent it.

I don't see the need to use 10 references for a single channel based solely on what medium is being transmitted.

 

So is using a dozen picons with references as a name when you can use a single SNP picon.

Please expand on your statement because I don't really know what you mean about which channels. Give an example.

So you are delebetry braking the sources for no reason, which makes them unusable. That is even worse.

If you don't know what you're doing and you do something anyway, you often get problems like this.
You also have a problem with witch counting, it is not 10 channels, it is 16 channels, because that is the correct number of regional channels. You posted a list of unrelated channels, which seems to be difficult for you to understand that fact

 

This is not a regional channel if you want an example. It is irreleventr here.

And you marking DVB-T channels as IPTV entries, thats is another error, that should be a seperet definition. There is a reason for this distinction. You may not understand it.

 

Do it right, or give up on doing it at all and just say the sources are dead.

It is clearly that reference is made to IPTV.

In IPTV nothing is standard.  It does not have a service ref.  You have to assign it yourself.

And everbody uses something different.  No method can be agreed on.

And the link with the EPG is passing by that same made-up service ref.

 

Azman uses the existing DVB-T service refs for these IPTV channels.  Which is perfectly OK and defendable

 

So the users of IPTV should adapt themselves.....

First of all, my EPG sources are divided into several categories.

One of them is Poland - IPTV. And as the name suggests, it contains EPG for all IPTV broadcasts of Polish channels, be it local TV, regional TV or even YT channels with any schedule.

As we know, streamers don't have references and don't need them.

If you know about a standard for broadcasting references, please enlighten me because I haven't read anything about it in ETSI or other European regulations.

 

I do not create EPG only for regional TVP channels, but for all IPTV channels for which I can get a schedule.

You have a big problem because I changed the references for these dozen or so channels. And how the references of satellite channels change because they were transferred to another transponder, you also make such a storm.

 

Explain why for these several Polish regional TVP3 channels the ONID "0048" is assigned in the references, registered and assigned to the operator STAR DIGITAL A.S . instead of the "2268" assigned and valid for Poland.

 

Since there are no regulations regarding references for IPTV, I decided to follow the regulations regarding DTT.

In my opinion, this is the most correct form of reference for streaming.

 

Take a look at the E-channelizer program that allows you to assign IPTV channels the references of their counterparts, whether from satellite broadcast or terrestrial TV broadcast.

It is very convenient and quick in mastering a larger number of IPTV entries in the bouquet without having to look in various lists and lists whether this particular IPTV channel / message has any assigned references or not and I have to come up with them. And in addition, hardly anyone knows how to do it in accordance with the regulations.

 

I create the whole EPG for Polish and Polish-language channels that I can find. Since you accuse me of not knowing and I shouldn't do it, when I stop you will be left without EPG.

 

So from my sources you have a guide for:

- All Polish and Polish-language channels broadcast by satellite,

- All channels broadcast in national DVB-T multiplexes and also for local multiplexes,

- For almost all streaming IPTV channels I've found

- For the entire package of Rakuten TV channels targeted at the Polish market, and in particular for two channels that have a Polish language path

- For channels broadcast in the two largest Polish cable networks (UPC and Vectra)

 

In addition, all the events that are included in the EPG created by me go through additional post-processes to obtain ratings from the IMDB and FilmWeb databases for films and series.

Then everything is rewritten and properly arranged so that all the most necessary information about the event is included in the "desc" tag, because as we know, Enigma 2 has some limitations and is not able to display all information from the acquired guide for a given channel.

 

So if you're saying I'm doing it wrong and I should stop doing it.

I will answer you yes.

 

If you don't like it, I'm not forcing you to use my EPG sources. Find others that suit you.

This is a public discussion in a place where I've created IPTV entries for EPG, and I'm going to write publicly because it doesn't just affect me, but many more people who have been using these IPTV services for many years. At least try to respect that.

 

First of all, my EPG sources are divided into several categories.

How is that relevant here? Stick to the problem you created with IPTV. You talk about a lot of irrelevant things, but nothing about the relevant ones. That means you are avoiding the subject. I'm very precise, but you're not. This means I must often remind you where the problem you caused is.

Once again, I have to explain something fundamental. For example, a channel can be associated with more than one reference value. It is because of the copy of the channel or the medium that is provided. I'm concentrating on IPTV channels, not DVB-T channels, not satellite channels or cable channels.

You claim to be reading something, but you don't understand the basics, which leads to more misunderstandings. You claim that you are trying to apply something that doesn't apply here. There is no organisation that systemizes IPTV on E2. That is what is @doglover talking about "nothing is standard about IPTV", so nomenclature is within guildlines on this forum as our goal. Start reading this forum to understand the conventions adopted here, not something else completly unrelated. Although many post are most likly gone by now but this important one is still here.

I introduced a sequence of refference names for PL IPTV many years ago in accordance to those guindlines. Not only those 16, but much more like that.

You do not like that there is 48 in refference, it has a deeper meaning but to simplify it to you READ FORUM. It is easy to find this information here and that is self explanatory. Hovewer if you think thats not enough then I will expand that. It is an artibrarty value as specified thats allow to provide more than one reference without conflict for specific country. Methodical order, when you apply systematics to something undescribed before, as a preventative measure to never worry about, not assingning to some random stuff you think you found. Without it is is only haos.

You have clearly been using more of my references over the years, you were active back then, even using the E-chanalizer program that I recommended to you many years ago when it was a free tool, so you should not be surprised how they were created. Why didn't you protested back then when I introduced more IPTV servises publicly with EPG, I remembeer you being optimistic about it. And as a reminder we are talking here about legal links from public or privat brodcasters and associated with it references that is is also Important criterion here. I can understand that the passage of time may have clouded your memory. This was accepted in the sources after my entry and confiramtion that is fulfilling criteria, and has been used by many people for several years, so you can't just delete it mindlesly. About using picons, look at the picture and try to spot the difference if you think it is the same picture.

I will ommit so called paid IPTV providers as it is against a rules here and how alternative services work in E2 as well.

 

It's so hard for you to understand.

I understand that it is harder for you to add back the 16 reference than to admit your mistake. A typical symptom of stubbornness is when you make a mistake and take no responsibility for it, claiming it is fine, when in reality it is very bad.
Add those refference back, that solves the problem.

It is very rare those time to find IPTV that permanent, without links changed through the years. But smaller private brodcasters often go on and off in short time.

Again, I am not talking about satellite or cable, so that sentence of yours makes no sense. I'm talking about specific IPTV channels, not a dosen more, so your misslead attempt is clearly visible.

 

We all have a problem. We already don't have a correct EPG because you have removed correctly defined IPTV entries for no reason, that is one of mistakes you have made. It is easy to point them out to you as there are many. Now you refuse to acknolage your mistake and refuse to fix it because of what, some of your personal issues. What will you do next? What will you delete?

You took over the responsibility of maintaining EPG sources from @doglover, that also include keeping guidlines addoptet here, your words and actions only prove that you cannot handle it and you are slowly killing those sources in the process. Why did you do that in the first place if it looks like your goal is to kill the sources? I don't know what your agenda is but it is clear to me that you are creating more damage this way. Then it is better for you not to deal with EPG at all. If that means no EPG at all, then so be it. Whether you kill it slowly or quickly, the end result is the same. But as I wrote at the beginning, this doesn't just affect me, it affects a lot of people, and that's another thing you're ignoring.

Thanks. However this is not a solution. It is not about single box and configuration of single user. But problem as @azman created is affecting all users that had those channels for many years. I cannot manage someone else boxes constantly or force them to use something that is unpredictable. We can not predict what will be gone next, that makes is bad in many levels.

 

No reflection from the troublemaker. He didn't even have the dignity to reply, even when I had to expose his lack of knowledge, and pointed to a forum thread that he hadn't even bothered to read.

Community rules are very important for any community based project. This is not private as you exist in a large project, so words like “my EPG sources„ or "I read something unrelated and I chose that despite reason" are not accepted here. The part I don't like about open projects is that often there will be someone who will abuse the trust of other people who have been committing for many years. If it is through lack of competence or preparation for something worse, like capitalising on the work of others, it should not happen. No private support or making money out of public work, that is disgusting.

 

This situation convinced me that years ago I should not get involved here and make my own sources insted, but I decided to support the community for the benefit of all without any private intress. And now someone is trying to take that away from the community by private issues. No improvements have been made by @azman, just a lot of setbacks. It creates a toxic atmosphere when rules are ignored and we don't know what the ultimate goal is.

I have read many documents regarding the standardization of DVB broadcasts and do not tell me and others that I do not have knowledge on this subject.

The fact that I have a different view on broadcasting references for IPTV broadcasts does not mean my lack of knowledge.

 

I also read the standard for assigning references to IPTV channels presented on this forum a long time ago and I once sent new URLs to the links for Polish IPTV channels posted here.

When you add a stream to your Enigma-box, they all have the same reference ID.
(4097:0:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:)
So, adding picons or EPG would not work.

Changing this service ref is up to the user to define.  So everybody can use a different service ref.  Assigning EPG or Picons to such a stream has be done by the user itself, and works only on his system.
The above channels have been assigned a service ref with a method which could make it universal.

The service ref format is

4097:0:1:SID:TID:NID:Namespace:0:0:0:
4097: indicating it is an IPTV stream (or stream)
Type: 1 for TV  and 2 for Radio
SID:  station identifier: a separate number for each station (1 to .... a 1 to 4 digit hexadecimal number)
TID: 0 for NL and 1 for FR (each country can have its own sequence)
NID: 32 for BE, 31 for NL, 49 for Germany, 44 for UK etc.....  (international telephone country code)
namespace: 0 for the moment
The above published stations have EPG in the Rytec files associated with the above published service refs.

Compare the number of channels for which the guide is currently being created with the number as it was before I took care of it and stop claiming that I am not developing Polish EPG sources, in particular IPTV channels.

 

You claim that I do not develop these sources, which is another untruth written by you.

I added downloading ratings of film and series events directly from the FilmWeb and IMDB database, which was not there before and the ratings were downloaded along with the schedule from pages presenting the guide and these ratings were much less reliable than it actually was after checking the event in the database of these portals.

These ratings were available only on the Teleman and WP Program portals.

My changes resulted in the abandonment of downloading these ratings from the aforementioned portals and the introduction of post-processes that analyze, match and download reliable ratings directly from the FW and IMDB databases, regardless of where the guide comes from, be it WP, PolsatBox, Toya, Canal+ or any other website presenting the guide.
