Hello everyone! I noticed that the dvb subtitles are not ok. There is something wrong with the rendering and the subtitles look ugly. Is there any way to fix this? Openatv 6.4 does not have this problem, but their versions 6.3, 7.0 and 7.1 have the same problem. Interestingly, there are no problems in version 6.4. I also installed openpli 8.2, 8.3 and nightly build but in all three the subtitles are ugly. Something is wrong with enigma2? Here's a picture of how it looks like what I'm writing about..

DVB subtitles aren't rendered, they are bitmaps that are displayed as-is. You can get this if they are broadcasted in the wrong resolution for example.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

As I wrote, the problem is in all openPLI (8.2,8.3 and nightly) and openatv except openATV version 6.4(in this version, dvb subtitles are displayed in the best quality)

This problem also exists on other receivers such as gigablue quad plus, so I rule out the possibility that it is a hardware problem with vu+

here is how it looks in openatv 6.4..

Tested is still same recorded file with subtitles or no ?  Here are some examples DVB subtitles with develop (nightly build).

I will test again and post the results. But there is something else I would like to mention. There are several types of dvb subtitles..with thick and thin letters, Cyrillic, etc. I noticed that there is no problem with thick letters, but there is with thin ones. Such subtitles are in your last picture (NG Wild), but only openatv 6.4 displays them correctly, while all others have the same problem as in my pictures... The receivers I noticed it on are EVO Enfinity, Gigablue Quad Plus and VU+ Duo 4K SE (which I'm using now). While I had Gigablue I used TeamBlue 6.3 and 6.4. That image is based on openpli and I noticed the same problem with 6.3, but teamblue 6.4 was all ok with the subtitles..
Really strange problem..It must be an image problem.I would ask the developers to check what it is about..

Again, there is NO rendering happening on the box. DVB subtitles are bitmaps which are broadcasted and displayed as-is.

Make a recording of a programme that displays the issue, and play that back in an image that you think is ok, and you'll see the problem is the media, not the image.

Saying "image so and so was ok" is pointless, as you are not comparing the same media.

If I am not wrong the OpenATV skin has only a resolution of 720 while OpenPli and other are using HD skin, perhaps this can explain that the bitmap renders better on OpenATV than on OpenPli since they are scaled up.
