The EPG for Spain from Rytec be stopped on 1 december 2022.

The alternative is the Koala EPG.

The source for Koala EPG has been added to the sources file.

This new sources file be included in the updates from next week on.

 

The reason for this:

 

I am 72 years old, and I feel I cannot do everything anymore.

The failure of the PC I used to collect EPG, started me thinking on how I could reduce the load.

First I found azman to take over the Polish EPG.

For the Spanish EPG, there is already several years an alternative - Koala EPG

The Koala sources should have also info for the TDT channels.

However they have an error in them.  So nothing will be imported for them.

The error is:

<channel id="LA 1 HD">1:0:19:19E:3E8:22D4:EEEE0000:0:0:0</channel> <!-- La 1 HD -->

instead of the needed:

<channel id="LA 1 HD">1:0:19:19E:3E8:22D4:EEEE0000:0:0:0:</channel> <!-- La 1 HD -->

Can you spot the difference.

Maybe somebody can point this out to Koala?

(I am not fluent in Spanish)

 

Also add the attached file (after unzipping) to /etc/epgimport/  on your receiver.
(or add the content of this file to your existing custom file)

 

I have corrected the service refs.

I understand your reasons and I wish you could have more help.
I am already busy with other projects and private live offers a lot challenges too lately.

 

But the problem with Koala is that they don't react on an issue I made for additions for the same reason you encountered, I don't speak Spanish.

Koala is now available in .xz format.

The files in .gz format will be stopped in the near future.  No date is mentioned.

 

So,  pls update the EPG sources.  (Both OpenPLi and OE-A have been updated).

 

But in principle it is enough that you replace .gz with .xz in your existing sources files. (in /etc/epgimport/)

Open the rytec.sources.xml file in an editor and via search and replace replace .gz with .xz.

Safe the result.
