streaming encrypted channels from Vu+ Ultimo 4K has been working perfectly on OpenPli 7.3 however when I upgraded to OpenPli 8.3 I can not stream  encrypted channels from the box.

Please note I am also using oscam with icam for dvbapi (not with Redegast) for stream relay on OpenPli 8.3. This works fine locally on the box.

What is the settings in openpli 8.3 for streaming encrypted channels ?

What do you mean by "streaming encrypted channels"? You don't want the server to descramble, but you want to descramble on the client?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

i tested more: I can only stream the very same pay tv channel which is set in the box too. Or an FTA channel.

My goal is to watch different pay tv channels in the streaming client and in the box.

With Openpli 7.3 i just clicked on the data stream icon of any channel on the OpenWebif and the VLC started, no matter if it was a different pay tv or FTA

Now with Openpli 8.3 it does not work that way.

So, basically i am limited to watch only 1 pay tv channel which is bad.

Vu+ Ultimo 4k has many virtual tuners, so thats not limiting factor.

It may be some settings in openpli 8.3, dvbapi or oscam needs to be adjusted?

Using a CI module? Because they are limited to one or two channels from the same transponder.

Otherwise, it should just work.

Do you see ECM requests for the second channel in the oscam log file? And do you see ok responses?

Also noticed if I put the box in stand-by mode then I can start streaming an FTA channel from it but can not start streaming a pay tv (encrypted) channel from it.
Normally when i did it from OpenWebif of Openpli  7.3 ,  then it triggered opening the pay tv channel. Now with openpli 8.3 i dont even see any action in oscam to decode it.

If you don't see the request in Oscam, the channel isn't tuned. You wouldn't be the first with FBC tuner configuration issues.

Do you have the same problem when you record a channel and try to watch a second?

I dont use CI modul but local cards in 2 local servers. As opening the pay tv stream (2nd channel) doesnt work, i dont see anything about it in oscam.

well, the openpli 7.3 to 8.3 upgrade was done using config backup-restore, so i would expect all working the same way. I never used record function for different channel, i will test that but not important. The main thing is 2 pay tv decode/watch should be possible.

Oscam on the box, or oscam on your local server?

If Oscam on the local box doesn't see it (log lines like so)

2022/12/22 21:40:01 55840CD0 c (ecm) dvbapiau (0100@00006A/5C00/1B7C/64:CE244881A278DC24AE2801D7E2FDAE13): found (394 ms) by xp1000 - RTL 8 HD

then you don't have a channel tuned.

If Oscam on the server box doesn't see it, you have a connection or a service filtering issue between the local oscam and the server oscam.

That is the correct expectation, I flash with backup and restore several times a day.  I assume you did the same, and didn't use some other backup mechanism.

I have put the box in standby and i can stream 2 channels parallel from it, however one of the channel has to be FTA. Now it is clear, it can not handle 2 parallel channel decode.

Setup here is simple, oscam r11716-798  in the VU+ box and oscam ubuntu server with smargo local card.

Absolutely not true.

My Duo 4K has a record of 11 simultaneous recordings, so it can handle 11 simultaneous streams too.

You have a local problem which you need to debug. Starting by answering my questions.

my openpli 7.3 could handle lots of streams like you said, no matter if encrypted or not. But i am having this issue on openpli 8.3.

Which logs should i check? I try to figure out what causing it. Can it be some oscam parameter?

"Kind of Solved" but this is terrible!

if you want to use stream relay (oscam icam) then you need to DISABLE the "sent http stream decode"

if you want to stream pay tv from box then you need to ENABLE the "sent http stream decode"

lets see if others can confirm this

See post #9.
