The default skin is already FHD.

Hi,

For my part, I modified the PLI_FullNightHD skin in order to display the posters.

Hi,

Procedure for OpenPLI 8.3

opkg update
opkg install python-requests python-imaging* curl

curl -o /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Components/Renderer/AglarePosterX.py https://pastebin.com/raw/dNn37g4P -o /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Components/Renderer/AglarePosterXDownloadThread.py https://pastebin.com/raw/0sGR1dEY

curl -o /usr/share/enigma2/PLi-FullNightHD/skin_templates.xml https://pastebin.com/raw/TM70pHGy -o /usr/share/enigma2/PLi-FullNightHD/skin.xml https://pastebin.com/raw/7fpg1JnT; sync; init 4;init 3

For information, with this version of openpli 8.3, if you want to flash a new image you may not be able to attach feeds for images.

The solution is to remove the dependency

opkg remove python-requests

Procedure for OpenPLI 9

opkg update
opkg install python3-image python3-requests python3-pillow curl

curl -o /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Components/Renderer/AglarePosterX.py https://pastebin.com/raw/B0zhYkSf -o /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Components/Renderer/AglarePosterXDownloadThread.py https://pastebin.com/raw/0sGR1dEY

curl -o /usr/share/enigma2/PLi-FullNightHD/skin_templates.xml https://pastebin.com/raw/TM70pHGy -o /usr/share/enigma2/PLi-FullNightHD/skin.xml https://pastebin.com/raw/7fpg1JnT; sync; init 4; init 3

Attached File  1_0_19_4CD7_81A_600_FFFF0000_0_0_0_20240326213444.jpg   212.31KB   5 downloads I placed this in my skin Pd1loi-HD-night.

I just think it's a shame that there isn't really room for it. But the whole thing works excellently.

When there is no room for it, it can’t look excellent…. It’s just a picture that has in a channel selection list not a real added value. Please also notes it needs an internet connection to download these pictures….. But for eg recodings it might look nice at the location of a picon.

It's not too bad, the photos load quickly. But just a pity, where do you put the photo? I just placed this in the right corner to show that it works. But I won't include it in the updates. So it's a one-off for me.

For a better perception of the superimposed poster, you reduce the video screen in the background.

And for me the display of the poster in the channel list is real added value.
You need an internet connection of course, just like for epgimport

I think easy looking skins with less information are better... But for that we have different skins. So everyone could choose the widgets they want.

however when I look for example to the newer E2OS skin in development for recordings this could be a real added value...-or- at the 2nd infobar... but not in a channel selection where you select a channel and it gives only info for the event from the channel the pointer is pointing to.

I also do not like a kind of not fully clear picture grabber that needs the WWW to get it to work...

Indeed when you want to add this in the skin you need to make the PIG smaller and e.g. put it next to the PIG... leaving you with an empty spot when the box cannot find a picture on the internet.... And as soon the code on a website where the pictures are coming from is changed so the grabber does not work anymore... Likely the source of the pictures is also not 'under good control' and based on 'text' that could slightly differ with increasing a chance to get the wrong picture or no picture.

We have two opposing opinions on this subject. :)

Thanks for the poster option.
I placed them in the secondinfobar.
I want to give it a transparent look as background with transparancy.
That i have to figur out how too.

In the 2nd infobar it may look nice... but that latest screenshot never can contain all the EPG info given.....

It's actually a slow rolling text. So all there is will show up eventually.

Rolling text is even more ‘moving stuff’ and ‘unrest’…. In fact I prefer to have rest and only see the info that is really needed. The trick with good skins is find a good balance.

This way I placed the photo next to the scrolling text, without losing the content.
