Hallo and good morning,

 

I think, I found a bug in the unicable settings in Octagon SF8008, OpenPLi 8.3.

I tried to change the unicable frequenz of my Durline DCR 5-1-8 from Port 7:1892 to Port 5:1688.

In the menu, the frequenzy changes from 1892 to 1688 after I adjusted port 5.

After saving, I had no reception on this tuner...

 

In the settings in etc/enigma, I found that:

After erasing the lines "CONFIG.NIMS.*" in settings- file and restarting the box, I could enter new tuner settings.

I selected user-defined settings and tuning was o.k.

Which brand's lnb you have tested ?

Just checked I am using inverto unicable lnb .

I dont see it in octagon 8008 

OpenPli 8.3 & nightly build to .

The unicable file is the same for all receivers. Best to check the entries against the manufacturer supplied frequencies

The problem is:

When I select the manufactor- type of my switch (Durline DCR 5-1-8) than I have to change the port for selecting frequency.

The port and frequenzy are shown right in the menue but it doesn't change in the settings file.

In settings file, there ist the new port but the old frequency!

Also bear in mind the values in the settings file are not always active. If you set the tuner and then change it, the previous ones still stay in the file even not used.

Posting the screen shot as requested will help solve the issue.

GUI restart as debug mode and see this entry in log:
 

eDVBSatelliteEquipmentControl::setLNBSatCRvco] vco= current number!

Hello, now I was able to run the proposed tests!

 

This are my old settings

Then I changed the settings in this

 1.jpg   116.11KB   0 downloads

 

After saving and newstart I had that:

 2.jpg   128.75KB   0 downloads

 

The Tuner settings in menue are o.k:

but in Log is that:

After editing the settings file from 1892 to 1688, everything was o.k.

Setting --> User band 7 (1892)

 

Log --> eDVBSatelliteEquipmentControl::setLNBSatCRvco] vco=1892000

 

This is same = OK!

After 1892 MHz, I changed to 1688 (Userband 5) and after Newstart I had no reception.

 

What means idx=4 in the Log -> meens that userband 5??

I Think, userband in menue begins with 1 (1-8)

Userband in enigma (intern) begins with 0 (0-7)

 

After newstart, the settings-file should be right - or not?

 

In the settings-file I had, after changing from 1892 to 1688 and Restart:

 

scrfrequency=1892

scrList=5

 

After init 4 -> Change the frequency in settings file from 1892 to 1688 -> init 3, I had reception.

What means idx=4 in the Log -> meens that userband 5??

User Band 5 (1688) same as idx=4 in the Log

...in your settings, there ist no frequency.

When I had userdefinded settings before and change than to manufacturer settings -> can it be that the frequency is not deleted or changed in the settings-file?

OK.

I figured out where the error is.

This is a bug in the code.

To test, remove the line config.Nims.0.advanced.lnb.1.scrfrequency=1688

By the way, i changed the frequency because i suspected that my DECT phone on 1892 was causing interference...
