Hi . This is my first posting on this forum . I recently  purchased an Edision OS Nino Pro with S2x satellite tuners and T2 terrestrial tuner . it came with an open TV i 6.2 image which i have now replaced with the OpenTv 6.4 and then today with OoenPLi 8.3 stable image. , from this website. I have had no probelm in configuring the T2 tuner and it works exactly as i would have expected.

I am totally puzzled about how to get and retain satellite signals.  I have a motorised dish , recently replaced and it operates a Disqc H H motor . now I have a Xoro HRC 9000 non Enigma reciever and it will get a range of satellites currently  Hotbird 13 , Astra19.2 and Astra 28.3 , all FTA . The Xoro  happily drives and returns the dish between satellite positions.and locks on to signal  . My problem is somewhat similar to the  poster for this question .... . I can get a satellite on the Xoro and good clear images , then if I switch the feed to the Edision I might get nothing , or if I have downloaded the full satellite list from a website I might. , but direct scanning for satellites, just does not seem to work  in any consistent fashion.  Even if I have titally ensured that the dish has not budged, and I scan the exact same transponder, I will probably get nothing  , then when I switch back to the Xoro , it is there !.

The LNB on the dish is a recent standard commercial 0.2dB universal unit , and the satellite tuner in the Xoro is a rather old .. maybe even  10+ years old . The tuner in the Edision is this newer S2X, type and I am wondering is there some incompatibility?  I notice that a lot more variables appear whenever  S2 is selected as the Tuner.

Is there an idiots guide to setting up the positioner ?

Hello,

Thank you . I did in fact do that and it was the excellence of this Wiki, which gave me the confidence to load OPENPL1 8.3 , and to use the Hans satellite list.   My source of puzzlement is that  although I know that the dish and LNB are pointing at  a satellite,  it often will not recognise any transponders or channels , whereas the exact same  LNB pointed at the exact same satellite using a conventional non Enigma machine has no difficulty. . Now I am not a stranger to satellite recievers , but this is my first Enigma 2 box. .  So is it particular to Enigma 2 or edision  or S2X tuners, but it seems weird.

I cannot help you I don't use a motorized dish on my side.

But google is also your friend to find support, if your motor support USALS it seems adviced to use this setup:

Hi ... Thanks for the assistance.. There is a very detailed , blow by blow account on how to set up a positioner  AND  LNB tuner in the OPENVIX  website in their  DOWNLOADABLE PDF. .  .  I would now advise anyone in my situation to use it. .. The fundamental problem in my case  was that the OPENPLi image defaulted to a ULAS rather than the slightly more primitive DISqC1.2 .which my positioner used
