I still have a list of Virgin Ireland cable references in the channels file.

Now somebody told me that in the UK nobody can receive Virgin on an enigma2 receiver.

Is this also the case for Virgin Ireland?

If yes, I can safely delete these service refs.  (250 lines)

Virgin UK's TIVO box no longer uses a smartcard, but a central cardserver over IP, and (afaik) nobody has made an open source CAM that can talk to it yet.

So yes, it can no longer be used with an E2 receiver.

As far as I know, Virgin Ireland, which is ex-UPC, (still) uses the Horizon box, same as Ziggo. However, they don't use Irdeto, they use a Nagra 3 "Merlin" card.

I have no idea if that card is supported by a softcam.

Are they in a seperate file, or part of the UK files?

If seperate, I could check the server logs to see if it is still being downloaded by someone?

The XMLTV files (the files that contain the EPG) are the same as the UK ones.

These Irish channels are also on the sat.  So not separate.

It is the service refs in the channels file I want to delete.

Then you'll need to find someone in Ireland that can answer you ;).
