My OSMini crashed while switching IPTV channels.

After the automatic reboot it would get to '19' in the display, show a green screen with a spinner and then go back to the initial 'OpenPLI' screen.

I then turned the receiver off, gave it a minute and powered on again.

Now it's not even counting up anymore.

Display says 'boot' -> 'OpenPLI' screen. ->  green screen with a spinner, then back to 'OpenPLI' screen -> Endless Loop.

I just recently did an online update to V8.3 and while (before) crashes were rare the receiver always rebooted.

Is there anything I can do (recovery options) or is this going to be a fresh install? :(

Thank you

I've found a not too old AutoBackUp and re-flashed the receiver with the latest 8.3 USB-Image.

At the end of the usb-flash (the part where the receiver should  reboot)  I've got a blue screen with the receiver displaying 'BOOT' and was stuck there.

I've powered off/on and the receiver would loop again (as described in my initial post)

I then tried flashing an older 8.3 image ... same result.

I then flashed the latest 7.3 and that worked as it should.

That's interesting .. any thoughts?

Hello,

It was just a blank green screen with a spinner spinning for a couple of seconds then reverting to the initial OpenPLI boot logo screen.

Have a look at my other post, I moved on but had some issue re-flashing

Help will not be possible without a crashlog.
You always get a crash log.

You can stop the box with known telnet commands

init 4

then copy the crashlog via ftp
and let it start once logged

enigma2

then copy the new crashlog.

https://wiki.openpli...ions#Crash_logs
Attach here as a log.

This is all more of a baseline for troubleshooting.

The reason for the crash will be a plugin that you have not mentioned here yet.

There was no access to the receiver since it's stuck in a boot loop

If it is stuck in a boot loop, it will show only the manuftacurer boot logo, meaning the rootfs is damaged, and only a flash will fix this.

If it is stuck in an enigma crash loop, it will show the OpenPLi boot logo, and network should be up and running, and you should be able to telnet or ftp to it.
