What about eg an rtl-sdr stick…. When eg you ‘tab’ the connection to the LNB…. Which can also be used for dab+
Some USB tuners have spectrum, e.g. TBS5925, but it is not useful because it takes minutes to complete. My spectrum analyser does the sweep several time a second. The whole point of the spectrum is it is fast enough that can be used for aligning dishes in real time.

Blindscan basically does the same thing, it looks for unknown signals, it just doesn't display the spectrum, the tuner also uses AVC or AGC, which is actually an analog value,
the first pioneer was probably Dr.HD16
And that is exactly my point. We can only do software tricks when the hardware is capable. Dr HD16 has capable hardware (for spectrum). And for blindscan too we need capable hardware. This is why people buy expensive modules like the TBS5925.

So Relook 400 or Cuberevo 900 had capable HW when they were rendering the spectrum years ago?

With additional hardware this is indeed possible and then you can make a real quick blindscan by selecting a peek and click on a kind of investigation button
You need to split off the LNB with a kind of SDR radio thing and create a user interface around it....It would be a complete project.
