No clue as this should be no problem. you are sure you are uploading it to the external HDD and not accidentally to your recorder, as it's NAND (flash) has only 250MB of space, which would explain that it "hangs".

How did you format the HDD which is in your solo2?
By OpenPLi itself or do you format it on PC and then connect it into the solo2?
