The YouTube plugin in OpenPl 8.3 is not available to download and install. After noticing issues with the plugin - no sound on the clips, slow loading and playing of the clips etc. I uninstalled the plugin and I am surprised to notice that there is no new one to install from the feeds. A problem has been noticed for several days. Zgemma H9S - 8.3. Mutant HD60 - develop old image (1 year -phiton 2) - the plugin is available but it's for python 3 and it doesn't do anything natively.

Is there a reason for this, Thanks for the replies.

Might be related to a bitbake issue on the build server which is being looked at.

Plugin should be back in the feed, I've added it manually, pending a solution for the server issue...

10x, neo. I install plugin on zgemma H9S - work fine  with extplayer (prev. def. player - gstplayer).

On Mutant HD60 with old develop image maybe download manual on 8.3 feeds. I try tomorrow and give an answer.

If the current version of the plugin YouTube is not available on image feed, you can download the current version of py2 or py3 from github: https://github.com/T...outube/releases

I recommend updating the plugin from the feed, as package version numbers may differ.

Mutant HD 60 - Same - maybe youtybe change something. On PC or Vida TV Hisense - no problem with same video content. In plugin mark - no authentication.

I have had success with the latest dev image and the pu3 plugin from github. A normal installation in the image does not install the plugin.

As I have observed, the release-8.3 feed is not updated every day, so the latest plugin versions are not always available on the feed, even if they are not pinned.
In the download page I see that release-8.3 update finished 30-08-2023 and on feed should be a working plugin version.

If search or something in your feeds isn't working, then I assume it might be due to some kind of blocking in your country.
I have noticed that many users from Russia complain about this, although everything works for me and others users in other countries.

Try the latest plugin version.

It should be fixed now.

If there are new versions, is the pinning updated (for 8.3-release and 9.0-release )? Otherwise the new version will never get in the image...

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

In fact, the plugin is pinned only in 9.0-release.
In 8.3-release plugin is not pinned.
I think it would be better to change it to AUTOREV in 9.0-release as well, because the plugin is tested for compatibility with 9.0-release and it doesn't work because it hasn't been updated, not because the latest version doesn't work on 9.0-release.
But some time ago we had a discussion about the fact that plugin versions should be pinned in release, and therefore it is pinned in 9.0-release, although it requires a manual version update after each plugin update.

Ah, ok.

The main reason for pinning is that any faulty commit can not only break functionality, but also break the entire build run, which we want to avoid.
By having to manually update the pinning, the plugin author has the chance to commit work-in-progress, and only update the pinning when updates are tested and proven stable.

If you can make sure you only commit tested code, and this can't happen, I have no problem with changing it to AUTOREV.
