I have a vu duo 4k se with the latest openpli 8.3.

The vu is connected with a hdmi cable to a jbl soundbar and from the soundbar it goes into the hdmi port of my lg tv.
When the vu is on for the first always the size ratio goes to a different size.
The way to fix this is to have both the soundbar and tv on and then do a restart of the vu box.
When it is restated the screen size is the right size.

Is there a way that the screen size always stays the same as this is very annoying to do every timeAttached File  20230817_200223.jpg   128.72KB   1 downloads

What exactly do you mean with "screen size"? Does it also happen when you connect the VU+ directly to the TV? Are you using the AutoResolution plugin?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I don't have this problem when it's connected to the tv, I think it has to do with the soundbar.
I mean by size that it goes to a weird resolution that I can't even use the menu of the vu.

Looks like your TV does some form of autodetection (EDID check), but your soundbar returns rubbish.

I have no LG experience, no option to set it to a fixed resolution? Or a config option in your soundbar?

What is your setup in the Main menu > Parameter > System > A/V?

May be fix the Mode and refresh rate.

There is also an option to bypass the HDMI EDID check.

You probably need to switch your user experience into expert mode to see all the possible options.

I have a Sonos soundbar and LG Oled ... Sonos goes into hdmi Arc and Vu+ into hdmi1  ... no issue. Are you able to do that with your LG TV?

Thanks I have sorted it out.
In the av settings I have set the mode to a different resolution, set the refresh rate also to a different one instead of auto and checked the edid.
