When we manually set dns, it is saved, but after rebooting or restarting, dns returns to the default 0.0.0.0.
The device model is xtrend 9000 with the latest program openpli-8.3-release-et9x00-20230814_usb.zip.

Most likely /etc/resolv.conf is a symlink to volatile storage. Remove the symlink and restart the box.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

This trick did not work

Is it s file now, and not a symlink? Did you check?

If it recreated the symlink, delete it, and manually create an empty resolv.conf file.

Yes, I did the exact same thing, I deleted the symlink and entered the resolv.conf file manually.

This command line worked for me and worked perfectly.

1- Remove the symlink resolv.conf
2- Manually add the resolv.conf file with permissions 644
3- chattr -i /etc/resolv.conf
4- reboot

:thumbed-up:

The issue is resolved in OpenPLi 9, which doesn't hack resolv.conf anymore, but stores DNS information where it should, in /etc/network/interfaces.

What do you think when looking at this page;)
