Hi!

I'm always been running my images from multiboot and sometimes (about twice a year) installing a new image in OMB when I'm thinking it gets old. The one i'm using now are 8.3 from 2022. Is it safe to online update this image running under multiboot so that I don´t have to configure the image every time or are the updates only working when running the images directly from flash without OMB?

Hi!

Never mind my question. I tried and it updated just fine to 2023-08-30 version.

The reason why I tried to update are because an error with my front display VFD? Since a couple of days the display never switch to show the info with clock, channel, progress bar etc. When starting the Vu+ Ultimo it first shows the Vu+ logo, then it shows the Blackhole image that looks like a hole during the OMB and usually it then shifts to show all the channel info when it has booted and started to show a channel on TV. Now since a couple of days it just keeps showing the Blackhole image on the display. I have tried to boot an older image with OpenPli 8.1 and then the VFD display shows all the info and it has always worked before with the 8.3 that I use now. Anyone knows which files are used for the display so that I can copy them over from my 8.1 setup?

No OpenMultiboot is not safe at all.

Either choose a box that natively support Multiboot or if you have a Vu+ box with OpenPLI 9 (and other distro) there is now a safe multiboot option to use.
