If someone is diving into GMEPG: I noticed that if you use fallback timers, the remote timers are correctly marked in red, but the green key doesn't change to "Edit timer" when you select the programme, so you can't edit the timer from there.

The author from this plugin will not be happy.... hacked and time bomb is removed in these ipks.....
I did not know it ... then remove it... but I think, there still must be some activation... and I did not put it here.
Edit - as I saw, where I downloaded it ... first package is original, 2nd package should be with change for FullHD and picons from /media/hdd/picon/ too. Both should need activation.

What brute to exploit this on an open source platform... and then also have users loving it...?!? This was one of the things that really makes me feeling sick...

It's just about how to detect disabled timers in GMEPG and change the background jpg used for it ( + jpeg add to the skin). That's all.
Similar mechanism as timers for recording have red background. And make it optionaly, of course.
I had a look into the code of GMEPG. It only changes the background color for events with active timers/recs.
So no jpg etc. Unless you would like also clock symbols (e. g. a crossed out yellow clock) for the deactivated timere for consistency. I do not care for the clock symbols.
OpenATV even displays symbols for timers created by AutoTimer (the same symbol as used in the timers list) in the GMEPG.
Btw, I have not made my version of CoolTV Guide public.

There is problem, that all around timers in EPG works with "timer_list" but disabled timers are in "processed_list".
There must be modified RecordTimer.isInTimer() - when we want not duplicate this long routine to GMEPG - and then add test to GraphMEPG. It works for me. It is without posibility enable disabled timers and it not works witht disabled fallback timers.

I'm afraid this breaks the fallback timers....Sounds like OWIF needs extra functionality here that also collects the disabled timers.... but the fallback timer is a 'Cool' feature that CoolEPG does not have.......

I think that it not breaks fallback timers, because it checks standard timer_list ( here are fallback timers included) and then it check local processed timer list. For fallback timers it could work, when would be forwarded all processed list too.
But for me it is unnecessary feature and complications...

So you stay on what was originally based on a closed source blob, what was hacked and where they removed a timebomb that was inside. For someone who is really open source minded this is 'killing'....

I have great sympathy for your attitude and I use and support (donations) open source solftware.
I even donated to Coolman many years ago.
But I only asked for small practical features, no huge changes and I have to fight for it and discuss it as if I were demanding a paradigm shift.
I have convincingly explained the benefits of the feature.
I understand that the effort is not as small as I had assumed (at least it seems so) but it is absolutely feasible for an Enigma2/openPLi specialist.
I would love to switch from CoolTVGuide and EMC to standard openPLi extensions, but virtually all feature requests are denied or remain unanswered.
So, I am afraid I have to stay with these 3rd party plugins.
(Sorry, too many "I"s) ;-)
But still, I thank you, the Core members and contributors for their incredible work over so many years, very impressive.

This really hurts more.... "I even donated to Coolman many years ago." -> Actually instead of donation he sold it !!!! There was a f#cking time bomb inside to after a time het tried to reforce you to re-donate again (and again and again)!!!!.... Only based on this fact you should not think about using it ever and ever...\
There was nothing unanswered... You saw we are even working on the disabled timers... but there will always be a difference between implementations. It is your choice to go for a closed source based plugin where the original author asked money for or to be patience and contribute on the real open source community. Do you think we are now still motivated to implement the non activated tuner stuff....?
Note that these 3rd party plugins are not really developed for years anymore, they are a result of a hack of closed source stuff with a bomb....It's simply you that are willing not to adapt to the small differences (for a time)... It's just you who is stuck to what you're used to.

No, I do not understand. I was polite and you insult me.
I had very nice discussions with Coolman many years ago (even more than a decade).
He was kind and respected my feature requests so I donated.
How should I know what was going on betweeen you, other developers, the community and Coolman.
You should understand that I as a user have a completely different perspective than you as a core developer.

People "stealing" open source code to be reused in a closed project is a long standing gripe in the open source community. Made even worse if those people move on to make money from the effort others have put in for free.
So I sort of understand Littlesat's reaction. Don't take it personal.

Indeed nothing personal... It just hurts that users are thinking like this.
You should understand that I as a user have a completely different perspective than you as a core developer.
->
Even when I was a user I would not want to use something from the 'Cool' stuff. I would go to get thinks as far as possible in the standard.... Therefore I feel sorry and it hurts me that you gave-up trying and give it a chance.

I understand Littlesat very well.
But to make it sound like it's my fault what happened with Coolman and that I am a bad person for using his software is not very friendly and hard not to take it personally.
Littlesat is very unfair to me with its statements.
I'm really angry now and I'm ending this discussion.

I have it finished ... yellow color for disabled timers (default in GMEPG menu it will be disabled) - it is only visual info, not possible change this timers, because it would ne changing a lot of code, imho.
Works for local timers only. I can put it as PR and if you will want it, merge it... In our skin it is prepared.
Edit: you can merge it, if you want...

Sounds good!.... actually in CoolEPG it also cannot be done for remote timers....
The code that needs added to be able to re-enable the timer should not be that difficult as you just can 'jump' to the TimerEntry screen via the add timer button... For remote fallback timers I'm afraid we also need a change in the OpenWebif....
