The main issue is that have to be investigated by somebody that have a motor and can test it out. ;)

This is indeed an issue with stream relay... the dish turns for the stream to oscam, while the box is getting the stream relayed from oscam. Then there is no real feedback about the dish that turns. This need a lot of recoding and tweaks. The same will happen when doing fallback from a client box where the dish connected to the server box needs to turn. Actually nothing realy related to stream relay. There is totally no communication/design related to streaming and rotating dishes a.k.a when it can take multiple seconds before the stream starts.

Not talking about client box. Talking about when the tuner and the viewing is done on one and the same box the dish screen does not show if is stream relay.

Because it is a stream that is doing the transponder tuning. I assume you also don't see anything if a recording is rotating the dish?

Exactly…..
And code needs to be added for this and it is not really easy…. Still a real solution here is that the manufacturers so support icam in their drivers and that never happens of course….. so we stay with the ‘relay’…. And note the step I initiated a half year ago is already a big step forward to make it more transparant. The client/serverbox was just an example as streamrelay could be client and server on one box with the oscam streamrelay in between…

Maybe an option show sat rotation movements for recording and streams might help… + extra code that covers a restart when needed when the sat reaches position…

It's simple.

I have studied the problem, the solution will be one of these days.

Small code change in Dish.py.

The stream ‘timeout’ might be an additional challenge. And do you also want to show it when something does stream? Or a recording starts? You should at least check if the current service is a stream relay.

Just wondering: what happens now if you request a stream from the box, or record a service that goes through streamrelay?

When is the motor running?

Yes, so if the box is on, you're watching something that doesn't involve the motorized dish, and a stream is requested (for example via the webif) of a channel that goes via streamrelay?

In that case you don't want motor feedback on screen...
