We know that. The question is if that will break the image for the ET7000-mini.
I can only repeat: we make images for the ET7000-mini, and those must remain working. If they also work on the ET7100-V2, that is a bonus, but as we don't support that box at all, not our priority.
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

The et7100 was a successor product from GI in the name of Xtrend.
It is built here as et7000mini.
The ET7x00 is an Xtrend box, not a Galaxy Innovations box. The ET7x00 image will not work on either the GI ET7100 (also sold as the ET7000mini) or the GI ET7100v2.

Why did you create a PR for the Xtrend box, and not for the GI box?\
Have you tested what happens on an Xtrend 7000 or Xtrend 7500 if you change the SoC and mediasink config in the config? Do they still work as they should? Does this have side effects?

Yes, it's all really confusing, that's what I said.
Therefore, the user's statement about which image he uses was also important.
He uses the image of et7x00 (Xtrend)
Feedback from the captain was that it is also built in the OE Alliance git via the xtrend kernel and driver.
Hence the flag/feature addition set here.
The effect is the same as with the VU+Zero.
Only if the SoC chipset h265 is available, then h265 will also be used.
This makes the image a little bigger, but it should work, just like with the vu+zero

I can't update the box for fear it will downgrade the installed apk to the one which comes default with the image but which doesn't support h265.
This is what i get when I issue opkg list-upgradable:

You can still run any update.
If it is actually overwritten, then just reinstall the required dvb mediasink.
The feature is currently not activated on the feed.
For current nightly and version 9, h265 works but with the dvbmediasink attached above.
