Hi guys
I manage several E2 boxes where OpenPLi is installed. I manage them via OpenVPN networks (SSH, WebIf). Some boxes are 800 km away from me. The boxes have not been updated for a long time and there is OpenPLi 4 (OpenVPN 3.2.3).
The OpenVPN server that works in the network is now 2.4.7. I will soon update the OpenVPN server to 2.6.3.
Recommendation?
Will OVPN client 2.3.2 be compatible with OVPN server 2.6.3?
Or do I have to update OpenPLi and install OVPN 2.5.0?
I cannot physically be at the box, so I have to update it remotely. If something goes wrong, all is lost.

I don't think anyone has ever tested this.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I am correcting the sentence

The boxes have not been updated for a long time and there is OpenPLi 4 (OpenVPN 3.2.3).

to

The boxes have not been updated for a long time and there is OpenPLi 4 (OpenVPN 2.3.2).

I don't think a minor release difference will make any difference.

Either way, this is going to be a nerve-wrecking operation, as there are a million and one things that can go wrong, given the fact you need to flash, and a flash deletes everything.
On top of that, flash via the commandline is not easy, and there will also be issues with differences in config and backup data, especially if you need to upgrade from 4 to 9.

If I were you I get a box locally with such an OpenPLi 4 setup, and workout a fool-proof upgrade scenario.

Good luck, that won't be easy.

Where can I find OpenPLi 4 for Formuler F4 turbo from 2017, where is OpenVPN 2.3.2 in the repository?

On the download page? https://openpli.org/...rmuler/F4 Turbo

And these are the OpenVPN versions in the feed of every OpenPLi release:

./openpli-4/mips32el/openvpn_2.3.2-r0.2_mips32el.ipk
./openpli-6-release/mips32el/openvpn_2.3.9-r0.0_mips32el.ipk
./openpli-7-release/mips32el/openvpn_2.4.7-r0.0_mips32el.ipk
./openpli-8-release/mips32el/openvpn_2.5.0-r0.4_mips32el.ipk
./openpli-9-release/mips32el/openvpn_2.6.2-r0.1_mips32el.ipk
./openpli-develop/mips32el/openvpn_2.6.2-r0.1_mips32el.ipk

Just take a good look and you find those images overhere
