The modules usually don't allow that (at least not the one that are given to end users).

Simultaneous decoding is allowed only on ONE channel normally. So i doubt someone will make it work if the module doesn't support it.....

thanks for reply dimitar

i wish i had of known this before i purchased, cant belive its not simultanious decoding, no where in their publicity do they mention this !!!!!!!!

It is very common with CI modules, one channel to watch live, recording should be done encrypted to CI restrictions can still be enforced when playing the recording back (requires hardware that that do this!).

Some CI modules support two channels (but still restricted to the same transponder), there is an option in the CI menu to enable that, so you can test it (by default it is set to auto, which requires the CI module to indicate it is capable).

Only professional modules don't have channel restrictions (for use in headends), but are still restricted to one transponder per module.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

An interesting issue I have found (recognizing this is the pli board) relates to openvix and openatv latest builds (6.6 005 and 7.5 14/8/24).

I have been trying the latest builds as they appear from these two teams as they appear on the feed, to see if they too will support "off the shelf operation" with this troublesome CAM. The answer up until now has been no. However these latest two releases now will clear the Kabelio channels from install. However, once you reboot the CAM fails to initialize and no GUI restarting or inits or resets help. The only way to make it reinitialize is to pull the CAM out and reinsert it with the box booted.  Clearly something I do not want to do very often.

Given that it works OK from the flash and that openpli 9.0 works OK, it seems unfair to blame the drivers on this occasion.

dmesg gives:

[ 119.564824] [AUD]: AUDIO_CONTINUE 0 0 aph=0x0
[ 119.569200] [AUD]: AUDIO_CONTINUE aph=0 0 0
[ 127.888262] 0: cannot recognize pc card
[ 131.082648] [VID]: VIDEO_SET_STREAMTYPE 0
[ 131.086779] [VID]: VIDEO_SELECT_SOURCE 1 0

Clearly these images have made improvements but these is some that this CAM does that differs from those used to test the software.
