Is it possible to manually move the subtitles to the top of the image?

Mainmenu>Setup>System>Audio/Video>Subtitle settings. There you can enter the vertical position. Make it better selectable by
simple using HotKey.

For DVB subtitles i am not sure how to vertical reposition. There is an option: Relative, Original and Fixed.

You are right. My mistake. I wasn't aware of this.
Your question still remains and i think someone with more input can answer this.
Without the use of editing skinfiles ofcourse.

450 is not enough, I think 800 is needed.

As far I know this is not projected to the skin, but to SD size... 800 is outside SD size

There is a way.
Change line in UsageConfig.py. ( See for what i changed at the end 450 to 950).

config.subtitles.subtitle_position = ConfigSelection(default="50", choices=["0", "10", "20", "30", "40", "50", "60", "70", "80", "90", "100", "150", "200", "250", "300", "350", "400", "950"])

(usr/lib/enigma2/python/components/UsageConfig.py)

restart enigma2.

This works.
