Hi, I have a uClan USTYM 4K PRO receiver and after uploading openpli9 (25.2.20234) only the second tuner (DVB-T2/C) is detected and the DVB-S2X tuner is not available.

Attached File  20240228091507.jpg   45.98KB   3 downloads

Maybe is needed to update the drivers in the image, because I have a new revision of this receiver (motherboard like the SF8008 Supreme).

I tried OpenATV and this problem is not there, it just shows DVB-T2/C tuner as tuner A and DVB-S2X tuner as tuner B (it was the other way around in the previous revision).

No issue here with the current develop. I'll flash the release image now.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Meaning? The tuner is not an Avalink, it's a Silicon Labs Si2166D ?

Same on the SF8008, which is an identical box:

root@sf8008:~# cat /proc/bus/nim_sockets
NIM Socket 0:
Type: DVB-S2X
Name: Si2166D
Has_Outputs: no
Frontend_Device: 0
I2C_Device: 0
NIM Socket 1:
Type: DVB-T2
Name: ATBM7821 DVB-T2/C
Has_Outputs: no
Frontend_Device: 1
I2C_Device: 1

Also, the driver update you referred to is already in 9.0-release.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Interesting, you have a different tuner than I in the Ustym 4K Pro.

Different production run, or secretly also a "supreme" version? What wifi chipset does your box have?

Gotcha.

So this is indeed "supreme" hardware, so uClan has switched to the new model too, but without reporting it (or probably even without external markings?).

So I guess that you don't have a working wifi interface as well (unless you manually installed the driver)? But does your tuner work in 9.0-release or develop?

SF8008 - RDA5815M + Si2166D
SF8008 SUPREME - RDA5815m + AVL62X1
OS mio+ 4K - AV2018 + AVL6261C

I don't see the need for that, 8.3 is an old image and nearly EOL. We haven't backported it for the SF8008 too.

Besides that, the TS says he has the problem after "updating" an 9.0-release image, which should support it just fine, the uClan BSP was updated the same time the SF8008 BSP was...

uClan doesn't use M2 :D

What do you mean by that?

Ustym 4K - AV2018 + AVL62X1

The "supreme" version you have, you mean?

Because the box I have, has ATBM7821 + SI2166D.

Our 9.0-release and develop images both have BSP support for the AVL62X1 (added sometime last year), so that should work fine. Same with the 88x2cu driver, if you install it manually (need to update the BSP for that).

This wifi chipset has a different USB ID from the chipset in the SF8008 supreme, although they both use the same driver. We'll have to double check if our current driver supports this USB ID.

I've updated the BSP for both 9.0-release and develop so it includes the driver in the image.

SSD M.2

the input tuner consists of two parts,

the input part (AV 2018 or RDA5815) and the input demodulator (AVL6261 or SI2166)

in the old uClan it can be seen more vividly (RDA5815 + GX1133)

Ah, ok.

Remains the questions:

  • does OpenPLi develop and 9.0-release images work for you, and do you see both tuners
  • does the wifi interface work once you've installed the kernel-module-88x2cu driver?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

4 versions of USTYM 4K PRO have been released so far, the one I have is the latest V4.

The V2 version had an improved display, better placed Wifi antennas and more ventilation holes on the top cover. V3 had new types of tuners (AVL62X1 + ATBM7821) and the package included a new type of remote control. The V4 version has all the improvements of the previous version + it has a new type of motherboard and DualBand Wifi (1200 Mbps).

So the newest V4 is the "Ukrainian SUPREME", but without M.2 and Bluetooth

I tried flash openpli-9.0-release-ustym4kpro-20240304 and the satellite tuner doesn't detect it either:

Attached File  20240305084237.jpg   45.82KB   0 downloads

In OpenATV you can see both (even if in the opposite order than before):

Attached File  20240305090743.jpg   97.13KB   0 downloads

Wifi in OpenPLI works, both in 2.4 and 5Ghz. It was not necessary to install the driver additionally.

Here is a list of tuners in Openpli:

Attached File  pli.jpg   12.04KB   0 downloads

And here in OpenATV:

Attached File  atv.jpg   13.59KB   0 downloads

And finally lsusb:
