You need to create a YouTube API key. Use the search function on the forum.

API key not needed anymore, isn't it?

You connect/login with your mobile phone or pc via google.com/device service

(don't know if taapat's youtube version is on the feed but with his version you use the device service mentioned above - no key needed anymore)

You don't need to use your API key!
My plugin uses its own YouTube approved API key.
Youtube has had strict conditions for using its API key for private data for some time.
Therefore, you cannot use yours without approval!

Delete the key file with your API key and use a plugin that uses its own, youtube approved API key.

@Cipryan If you use my plugin youtube, then in the settings you need to enable authentication and follow the instructions to enable it on a device.

I created a pull request for the latest plugin version on the 9.0 feed: https://github.com/O...-core/pull/1237
When someone merges it and the packages updates on the image feed, the latest version of the plugin will be available on the feed.

If you want to use it right away, you can always download the latest package from the plugin git and install it manually. https://github.com/T...outube/releases

Can someone from the Openpli developers comment please
to the topic of youtube in openpli?
I don't want to start a new youtube topic.
I am asking for a relevant statement as to why YouTube is not working
in a clean install of openpli 9?
I understand why it doesn't work anymore in openpli 8.3
but what is the reason of broken youtube plugin in openpli 9
Is there a solution to repair the youtube plugin in openpli?

Please do not write verification or login, this procedure is not valid.
Thank you very much for your comment and thank you for your work..

Nothing is broken here.
You are installing a stable version of openpli 9.0.
A stable version means that you have available fixed versions of plugins that work at the time of creating a this version.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work for plugins that need regular updates, like youtube in this case.
Therefore, someone needs to manually update the version of the plugin on feed, so that the latest version is available and it works.

Thanks for your comment, but I really don't understand your answer.
I am using Octagon SF8008 Openpli 9 version January.
I regularly update the image to a newer version.
I am now using the stable version release date 3/22/2024
YouTube videos cannot be played..
The opkg update command also doesn't solve anything.
I uninstalled from the youtube plugin and reinstalled again.
The plugin still won't play any video.
I really don't understand how to make the add-on work.
Do I always have to do a clean install of a clean image?
Never had such a problem with youtube.
I only remember the period when own api keys had to be created.

PLi® Core member

sorry friend

one more question for you.
If I use openpli 9 multiboot version which install openpli 9 version march 2024 build and update to latest openpli 9 march version.
This procedure for you is to install openpli 9 unstable version
where old versions of plugins are used?
Thanks for the response

There is no "9.0-release unstable version".

The code of an 9.0 image from last year december is identical to the code from yesterdays image. That is what "stable" means.

The only things that change in the lifetime of a stable image are data files (the transponder xml's, channel lists, etc), and code for which a fix is explicitly backported or is upgraded to a newer version (which happens for example every now and then with oscam).

So with

I created a pull request for the latest plugin version on the 9.0 feed: https://github.com/O...-core/pull/1237

When someone merges it and the packages updates on the image feed, the latest version of the plugin will be available on the feed.

Taapat says he made a fix, and asked for it to be backported. Which I've just done.

Now, the build is already running, so I'll have to wait until that is finished, before I can run a build that updates the youtube plugin. Given the predictions that will be sometime tomorrow afternoon.

Thank you very much for your willingness and help.
If I understand correctly, it will be fixed around tomorrow evening using the classic openpli update.

Correct.

Check the homepage by then, to see if the build has finished, before you update.
