The standard player (i.e. the movie list) has the same problem with skipping the intro. I use "Hymn" from Ultravox to test, which starts immediately with lyrics, without a musical intro.

 

I tested this on a uClan Usytm 4K PRO (Hisilicon with gstreamer). I just double checked on a VU+ Solo 4K, it doesn't skip the intro of the same MP3 files.

 

I'll compare Media Player behavior later today.

But it is till unclear to me how an incorrect directory name can cause a spinner, and not a "directory does not exist" crash or exception somewhere?

 

This feels to me like a workaround for an underlying issue which is now buried even deeper...

I can't reproduce this. It works ok on a Gbquad4k with OpenPli 9 Develop.

 

I tested it on a uClan Ustym 4 KPro, with my own develop build.

 

I can't remember having this problem before (this is a new test box, first used a HD66 and later a Qviart Dual as test box), so perhaps it is box dependent.

 

If I run Enigma in debug mode, I don't even see the player attempt to start the next MP3 when the first is finished. And also, the long standing bug that skips the first 10-15 seconds of an MP3 is also still in there somewhere.

 

Noted:

I can reproduce mp3 stop at its end if i change player setting in service app.

The mp3 end time (duration) is not detected. (Zero) in GST player setup situation .

That is why the standard player stops at the end of the song. It has no duration time. Needed to execute the next song.

This is behaviour of the standard player with mp3.  Mediaplayer handles this as it should be.

Loop -->play next mp3 file(folder --> 11 mp3) work fine.

Thanks,I should say that it works but it is working unstable in my opinion.

In listmode it stops playing at every now and then and no visual of progress indication.

And most important playing continuous but sound stops sometimes at the  start of the next played mp3 in the list.

The progress indication seems random working in what mode? and fails most of the time.

I stay at mediaplayer for this instead of movieplayer as standardplayer for mp3.

Possible that mediaplayer versus standardplayer is less critical of the mp3 (bitrate) format?

By progress indication i ment setup statusicon as progress indicator in setup menu.

It doesn't match the progress bar indicator from the standard player at playing mp3's,

It stays zero empty nada most of the played mp3's. And this seems independent of the gui skin i use

Mediaplayer as well as standard player have minor options to display a cover art kind of thing.
I was surprised myself but take a look at the attached picture.

You don't want those settings active in the movie list, as they will also apply for other media types, i.e. recordings.

Hello Jork, thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, OK for mp3 but no picture for live radio streams (of course for streams which associated pictures)

only showing it with gstreamer, if you switch to exteplayer3 nothing is shown, why is that?
