Hello,

I was an avid satellite enthusiast for a decade then I stopped for 6 years. I noticed i still have an old xtrend et4000 box. I can't use it as a satellite receiver since i cant install a dish. Is there an option to use is as an iptv box and load a list of channels to view? If so if there is any guide or something let me know, I'm a bit rusted after many years out of the scene.

Thanks

It depends a bit on what you mean by "IPTV".

If you have a provider, you can use a plugin like Xtreamity. If you have individual stream URL's, you can create bouquet entries manually (either by editing the bouquet file from the commandline when Enigma is stopped, or using a bouquet editor that supports streams).

Either way, the ET4000 is an antique with a slow processor, and as streaming may require lots of CPU (depending on the media type), it may not be the experience you expect.

Also, it might struggle running a recent version of OpenPLi, due to the lack of available flash memory. To update it, you need to flash again (use the menu option, and opt for a backup on USB), there is no room to do software updates.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Thank you for the reply, i get the idea now, its not meant for that (et5000 with 128mb flash/256mb memory). Sorry to read about your health issues in the signature. I'm still mostly bedbound since almost 2 years cause of health problems, it is a daily struggle
