Hi,

 

I tried to use a Sony PlayTV USB / DVB-T module (dual tuners) on a Zgemma H7s without success.

This module seems to be based on a DIB0700 chip (2*DiB7070P stk7070pd). I've got the info here.

 

I installed the drivers with this command line :

opkg -force-depends install enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-dib0700 kernel-module-dvb-usb-dib0700

I also put firmware file "dvb-usb-dib0700-1.20.fw" in /lib/firmware

 

... and this is what I get (I tried on both OpenPli and BlackHole images, same result :

[   11.508742] dvb-usb: found a 'Sony PlayTV' in warm state.
[   11.523502] dvb-usb: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software demuxer.
[   11.581651] dvbdev: DVB: registering new adapter (Sony PlayTV)

[   12.198969] dib0070: DiB0070: successfully identified
[   12.204098] dvb-usb: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software demuxer.
[   12.281788] dvb-usb: Sony PlayTV error while loading driver (-12)
[   12.288160] usbcore: registered new interface driver dvb_usb_dib0700

I always got this error : dvb-usb: Sony PlayTV error while loading driver (-12).

 

Can somebody help me ?

Looks like a driver file .fw is missing.

For me the driver installation was OK because I had put the "dvb-usb-dib0700-1.20.fw" file in /lib/firmware.

However ... after reading your comment and this webpage, I decided to duplicate the firmware file and rename it "dvb-usb-dib0700-1.10.fw".

Et voilà ! Bingo !

I hope this will help someone until the driver code reflects the change described at linuxtv.org.

It is also available in the feed:

opkg install firmware-dvb-usb-dib0700-1.10

I have added it to the "enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-dib0700" meta package (which already contained kernel-module-dvb-usb-dib0700, so no need to specify that on opkg install) for 9.1-release.
