Why has the speeptimer configuration been messed with? Now it's broken.

The page says [click OK or green to start/stop] but now it's impossible to stop a timer.

Why the additional blue button?

Because of changes in setup to make stuff concequent. The ok message is not correct due to build did not run the last days. Ok is now toggle Boolean switches, give selection box, go to virtual keyboard. Then ik cannot start the sleep time anymore so it is relocated to blue… with blue you can start/stop it (after the build is done)

In other words, work in progress, and the risk you run if you install a develop image (which you failed to say in your post).

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Did I forget to mention that it concerns the develop branch? I thought it was obvious, since this is the "Feedback on the Nightly Build images" forum section.

Back to the topic...

The sleeptimer is now activated by the blue button. So far that's fine.
But stopping the timer with the blue button is not possible, unless you take an extra step and change the configuration to "Disabled" first. This is not ideal in terms of usability.

I understand that it is still work in progress in that area, so can I make a suggestion for improvement?

When a sleeptimer is active:
1. Use the yellow button to stop the timer. (without having to change the configuration)
2. Relabel the blue button to [Restart Sleeptimer]

Any thoughts?

Was it different before?

In my opinion, there should be a separate Yellow button for canceling the Sleeptimer (only displayed when the Sleeptimer is activated). The Blue button should be kept only for activating/reactivating the Sleeptimer (displayed only when the option is not "disabled"). It is truly nonsensical for the user to first have to set the option to "disabled" in order to cancel the Sleeptimer with Blue. The user will be able to reactivate the timer with the Blue button and stop the timer at any time with the Yellow button, without having to change the setting option.

I will see on it...

Edit: PR for it is created

Much better now. :)

Can the help text be updated accordingly to: "Configure the duration in minutes for the sleeptimer. Click blue to start or yellow to stop the sleeptimer."?

I don't think that's necessary. Once the sleep timer is active, a yellow button for stopping it is displayed. When is not active and is not set "disable", then is shown Blue with text  "Start..." or "Restart ..." (when is timer active yet).

The current help text does not correspond any more.

It shouldn't be too difficult to update it.

The instruction "Select this entry" can be omitted. It is not necessary for starting or stopping the sleeptimer.

(see proposed help text from my previous post)
