Greetings fellow hobbyists!

Soon I will install my Sennheiser AMBEO Soundbar Plus and also need to rewire my setup:

Since my enigma2 4k stb is equipped both with TOSLINK and HDMI, I wonder what to do as nowadays Optical is the older standard.

AFAIK Optical cannot support more than 5.1 surround, thus the newer formats such as Dolby Atmos require HDMI.

I assume it is time to forget about the good old Toshiba LINK cables and stick to HDMI in my new setup?

I am looking forward to hearing your feedback.

Use HDMI to support the new audio format, forget about the TosLink.
