In the network configuration on OpenPli 9 image, I always deactivated DHCP to manually put the IP address I wanted.

It has always worked since .... Vu Duo2 > Vu Solo2 > Vu Uno 4K > Vu Duo 4k > Vu Duo 4K SE except that for a few days the DHCP has reactivated itself and given me another IP address, still the same fortunately.

If anyone can tell me what's going on and what I should do, I thank them in advance.

Nothing happens "by itself". So you must have done something that changed the /etc/network/interfaces file which holds the configuration.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Restored a backup? Reinstalled network packages? Installed some network or VPN plugin that f'd things up?

For DHCP, the config should be

auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp
udhcpc_opts -T1 -t9

For a fixed address:

auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
      address 10.1.1.125
      netmask 255.0.0.0
      gateway 10.1.1.1
      dns-nameservers 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4

You can also check the file timestamp., to see when it was last changed.

So static IP on the wired interface, DHCP on the wlan interface.

But I see no DNS entries, so your box won't be able to connect to the outside world without it being defined.

I resolved by leaving DHCP enabled on the Vu+.

I can connect normally from my Mac via OpenWebif, Oscam and my FTP client.

Thanks but I don't want to bother with this anymore.

Hi,

It seems your device is reverting to DHCP. Try these steps:

  1. Make sure to save settings after turning off DHCP and setting your manual IP.
  2. Check your router settings to ensure it’s not enforcing DHCP.
  3. Update your OpenPli image to the latest version.

you can set the router to assign given IP addresses to the devices
