Is it possible to install the VLC libs on the OpenPLI 9 image ? Is libvlc available through opkg ?

Anyone installed it successfully already?

Thanks.

The enigma2-plugin-extensions-vlcplayer package is available in the feeds and can be installed by the plugin manager but I don't know if this is what you meant by vlc-libs....

That plugin is meant to make the box a client to a VLC server running on x86 hardware.

The vlc libs aren't available in the image. If you have a build environment, there is a build recipe for vlc, which will also build the libs.

What do you intend to do, as VLC itself won't run on the box, and there isn't enough CPU power available in the SoC to use vlc's software codecs?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I would like to try to build this project targeting OpenPli image.
Can I have the build recipe and eventually the documentation on how to setup the build environment for the OpenPli Image on ARM ? I have an EDISION OS MIO+ 4K

Info about building your own image can be found here

As this is not a support question, perhaps move the topic to "Third Party Development"?
