Hello. Long time occasional lurker, I sign on to report an issue I had today on my Vu+ Ultimo 4K.

This morning, I did a re-scan of the channels, to catch up with any changes that might have occurred on the satellites. And a few channels went missing on Eutelsat 5 West, namely the FTA French channels Arte/France 5/M6/W9/6ter, which make up Stream 4 in multistream 12732V Gold. Black screen with error message "no SID found in PID". All other streams from this transponder were present, and working, and the channel names had NOT disappeared from my favourites, even though I had ticked "erase first".

I updated OpenPLI to the latest 9.0 release, from a 9.0 version from June, and then scanned Eutelsat 5W again, to no avail.

Eventually, I tuned in to a channel from another stream on this transponder so that the Vu+ would be correctly preset, and did a manual scan on this single transponder with the pre-filled parameters but stream ID set to 4. Problem fixed: Channels working again.

I have no idea what went wrong with the automatic scan on the whole satellite.

Something changed on that transponder, but our satellites.xml hasn't caught up yet?

There were changes this morning: https://github.com/O...ee799656846e72e, but those won't hit the image until the next build on Sunday.

If you can't wait, you can download the latest manually from here: https://github.com/O.../satellites.xml (click the download icon), and put it on the box in /etc/tuxbox.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Thanks. I've already fixed the issue by a manual scan of the stream, so I will refrain from re-fixing what works.

According to KingOfSat, nothing changed on this transponder since 2021. Stream 4 was found exactly where expected and all other streams from this multistream transponder were still working normally, which left me puzzled.

I posted as a potential warning to others. But it may be a low impact issue.

The corresponding line #1461 in satellites.xml has not changed:

        <transponder frequency="12732000" symbol_rate="29500000" polarization="1" fec_inner="6" system="1" modulation="2" is_id="4" pls_mode="1" pls_code="50416" />

Problem is that if people don't report changes to TP to website the information are not updated.

So I think that the information on both lyngsat and KingOfSat are obsolete, they should have France 2 UHD and France 3 UHD and also M6 HDR

How do you solved the problem manually?

Try to scan those TP:

I had the same problem on my Vu+ Duo 4K SE. You have to scan 12731 and everything is in order.

Problem is that if people don't report changes to TP to website the information are not updated.

I don't think there's anything to report about the transponders because there actually was no change.

The link you provide is about two other transponders with encrypted UHD channels. These channels were automatically picked up by my full scan, but of course tuning in to these result in a black screen because I do not have an access card and I'm not sure that Fransat cards would even work in a Vu+.

My issue was with non-encrypted HD channels in one single stream of a multistream transponder. So it does require some slightly exotic hardware (multistream) but it's free-to-air. Again: Stream 4 somehow required a manual scan this time but other streams on the transponder were found in the automatic full scan. As far as I can tell, the information in satellites.xml is correct for all streams (same info, except for stream ID), and the "missing" stream 4 was eventually found right where it always was expected to be.

How do you solved the problem manually?

As explained above:

I tuned in to a channel from another stream from this transponder, so that correct parameters would be pre-filled.

I then went to the menu for a Manual Scan, changed type to "User Defined", and changed "Stream ID" to "004" leaving all other parameters unchanged.

Launched scan: Missing/unseen channels were found instantly. Problem solved.

Everything is as defined in satellites.xml (frequency="12732000") and as listed by Lyngsat and KingOfSat, except that KingOfSat lists frequency as 12733.00 V while mu Vu+Ultimo reports 12732.368 MHz Vertical as real value in Service Info. @chafpa indicates 12731 above. All values in agreement within acceptable operational margins, I suppose.

This is the listing for this transponder from Lyngsat:
