Hi Guys. Any idea why my bbc hd channel works on my vu duo 2 and not my dreambox hd original using the same dreambox backup list.? I am using the same lead so not a antenna issue. Thanks

There is no OpenPLI image for any Dreambox except the DM8000. What specific model is it?

And which BBC channel, which sat and transponder?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Yes an ancient one, I have had it for ever. The wife uses it for her fta channels. I had a similar problem with the vu but I updated the tv channels and that sorted it but cant update this box as its so old. Is it possible to manually input the frequency somewhere? Tried the normal way and scan finds nothing. Thanks

You can always do a normal sat scan, with Network set to "yes". It will use the broadcasted NIT tables, instead of the satellites.xml. It is slower, but will find and update all transponders.

I only have the options

clear before scan

scan tunar 1 (dvb-s2)

I do recall the network scan option in the past from other openpli images. Guessing I will have to find an image with that in or can I telnet a command to put that network bit in?

Thanks

Not sure where you look?

Menu - Setup - Tuners and scanning - Automatic Scan (or manual scan, and select "multiscan all select".

Doing a scan now, found 15 channels extra at 91 percent but seems to be stuck. Will leave it running in the background.

Thanks

I left it on for 6 hours but it got stuck on 91 percent. This morning I tried just to scan a single channel (bbc hd frequency ) on network and it failed to find it. Everything was in correctly for the scan.

I will leave it on all day and see what happens but it's not looking good. Is there any way I can rob the files out of the Vu and install in the dreambox?

Thanks

Use a tool like DreamboxEdit or Dreamset?

Or get the files out with FTP, you need

  • /etc/tuxbox/satellites.xml
  • /etc/enigma2/lamedb
  • /etc/enigma2/bouquets.tv
  • /etc/enigma2/bouquets.radio
  • /etc/enigma2/userbouquet.*

after which you need to reload them on de DM800 using the web interface:

http://<-ip-of-the-dm800>/web/servicelistreload?mode=0

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Hi yes I have used dreambox edit from the vu into the dreambox. I did notice in the dreambox shows it shows 10788v 22000 auto, but king sat shows it as 10788v 23000 3/4. I guess the auto bit doesnt matter but there is a difference on the sid. If there is some way of changing the sid to 23000 in the box permanently this might fix the issue?

Auto only works if you have a tuner that is capable. If you VU+ is, and your DM isn't, you have to do a full sat scan after you've transferred the list, to get rid of the auto.

After leaving it on bbc came on but not for long. So getting there but the signal seems weak.

Could it be the box had its day or the numbers out on the sid cause this?

Thanks

Not sure what you mean by "numbers out on the sid"?

I have a poorly positioned dish at the moment, but still get 13dB on BBC One Scotland. So if the signal is weak, it should be weak on the other box too (there is variation on tuner sensitivity and on reported reception data, so a direct comparison is not really possible.

When I transferred the files from the vu to the Dreambox I did do a full scan about 4 times including network scan on the dreambox

The sid part shows in the manual scan option and on king of sats frequency guide.

Will check the db on each box and return in an hour or so

Thanks Wanwizard

If you mean the FEC, 3/4 is the type of error correction applied, and if the tuner can't autodetect it, it must be given.

To make sure, zap to the channel, then press Menu, and go to Tuners and scanning, select Manual scan,  set it like in this screenshot, and press Green to scan that transponder. Then you're sure the settings are correct.

Is PLi 2.1 compatible with DVB-S2?

I am picking up 15.3 db  on the dreambox and 14.9 db on the vu. The vu is slaving off the dreambox.

Thanks
