Because it is the manufacturers logo.

You're asking the wrong question, it is not "why do OpenPLi not implement their own logo", it is "why do other images feel the need to rub their pole so much"...

Yes very true. But once an owner (like myself) has flashed his VU+ with an other image other than OpenPli (which I have found to be very good and fast booting as well unlike the others i have tried)and afterwards opts to install OpenPli is not good for OpenPli itself to have another image's Splash screen together. My opinion. Thank you once again.

Try keeping also the original file

force.update

into the pendrive

Thanks mate....that way it works.

I reminded that the Vu+ Zero doesn't have a physical button to start the update (different from other Vu+ models I use), so that file is necessary to force the flashing, otherwise it's ignored.

Once you know how to create these Vu+ splash screen images (they are simply bitmaps, add a .bmp extension to open in an image editor) you can flash your own.. ;)

Make sure to keep for the new modified image the same bytes size and image dimensions as the original.

Yes thanks.....already did so. :)

Thanks mate....that way it works. Also noticed that Openpli images do not carry that file when flashing...that is why the splash screen remains the one from the previous image. Why do Openpli not implement their own splash screen?

On the pendrive be sure not to delete the original folder structure of the image, only the unneeded files.

Possibly use a pendrive with an access led to be sure that the flashing procedure has completed (when the led stays off)

Power off the receiver before removing the pendrive.

Tried it many times...still same blackhole splashscreen before Openpli begins to load.

Flash your box with an original image from VU+ and then flash OpenPli, that will restore the original VU+ boot screen.

There is no need to flash an entire image, but only the file

splash_cfe_auto.bin

To do so you need to prepare a pendrive with the original Vu+ image, then delete all files except the splash_cfe_auto.bin file.

Then flash as usual, your current OpenPLi image will remain untouched, only the bootup screen will be changed.

Tried this...did not work.
