#1321683 Sundtek SkyTV Ultimate Dual (2x DVB-S2X) USB tuner

Posted by sundtek on 20 February 2021 - 16:56

So far there is a problem with automatic detection of the second tuner, but the manufacturer(Sundtek) promises to fix it in new drivers.

sorry it was updated for a long time already but I didn't have time to look it up. The Controlcenter needs an update for the dual tuners

[SERIALNUMBER/1] (slash 1) will address the second tuner in the configurationfile

[SERIALNUMBER/1]

dreambox_support_fe1=on

this will automatically register the second tuner.

So the update is needed in the controlcenter now.

If any Sundtek user has questions or demands just post it in our forum support.sundtek.com

We support all our devices since 2008 as far as possible (we can only support German and English requests)

contact us via chat again if possible. We recorded some sample files from some other users but are not able to reproduce this with our VU+ Duo2 nor VU+ Duo. Audio is 100% clean and there are absolutely no issues here.

Several devices also from other manufacturers are affected by the change VU+ introduced (we guess they lowered the buffer size and we have already done some work to improve this for some customers.. however it's very difficult for us since it is not reproducible as mentioned).

The first test was lowering the buffer size which improved the situation. The latest changes are not live yet because we have another bigger driver update pending (we're adding some new stuff)

Even FM-Radio, AnalogTV are supported on Enigma with Sundtek MediaTV Pro ???

FM and AnalogTV are currently not supported by Enigma2.

However we're adding support for this to XBMC / Kodi.

It's not a matter of driversupport but of the video output interface of the settopbox, we cannot dump the frames to the video processor.

Sundtek MediaTV Pro great works, but the price(

Considering that the devices work nearly with every system, we're also about to release a streaming server for XBMC / Kodi soon.

Blindscan should just work with the Sundtek devices (because you mentioned them before).

If there's still an image out there which does not just let us know.

So far we tested:

OpenPLI

OpenVIX

VTI

Dream Multimedia's Dreambox Images

BlackHole

Yes, but SkyTV IV is currently not available (as for April 2015), our engineers are working on it. We hope the availability status will change soon. A new chipupdate introduces some issues at the moment.

#443498 Na reboot Sundtek DVB-C/T-tuner 'kwijt'

Posted by sundtek on 13 September 2014 - 12:45

I think the deinstallation did not remove the driver configuration file /etc/sundtek.conf

The settopbox installer will start the device in DVB-C Mode if everything is removed cleanly and you set up DVB-C there.

However the Sundtek Control Center is able to override the default and set it to DVB-T or just any other mode, that is why you might have had DVB-T set up before, and afterwards changing it to DVB-C worked.

The Settopbox Installer is a windows tool and works for all supported Settopboxes and all the Images out there, I think there's no way to include a windows tool in Enigma2 ;-)

I am not sure which sundtek controlcenter is included in openpli, the latest version is downloadable at http://sundtek.de/media

The Settopbox Installer (which is linked in #3) is just much easier to explain to customers.

#268450 Vu+Duo komt niet voorbij bootloader met Sundtek USB Dvb-C tuner

Posted by sundtek on 4 April 2012 - 13:27

First of all in order to solve some issues OpenPli has to update the broadcom drivers.

How do you conclude this. Can you point us to the drivers we need to use? Do you mean DMM only - did they fixed stuff for sundtek in their drivers from last month - indeed this is still not committed)...

For what we use.... everything is here: http://openpli.git.s...itweb-index.cgi

DMM is working on new stuff which seems to improve kind of everything on their side but I'm not sure how much OpenPli can benefit from that in the future.

For VU+ I just doublechecked, you are indeed using the latest drivers - VU+ is just testing right now and keep updating me with their results.

The relevant part for the issues are the broadcom drivers as mentioned (since you're using the latest ones right now nothing you can do here..).

Hopefully we can nail down the root cause of all that soon.

It seems like the broadcom drivers which are used with openpli cause some memory corruptions with external tuners and finally result in non-working En*gma2.

Driver used in openpli which crashes:
md5sum /lib/modules/*/extra/dvb-bcm7335.ko 2d9b809fb7590d33c1a2ba5cbb696f84 /lib/modules/3.1.1/extra/dvb-bcm7335.ko
Driver used in VTI which seems to have a better behavior:
md5sum /lib/modules/*/extra/dvb-bcm7335.ko c57df29a964e95ef3dd6df3412c320f8 /lib/modules/3.1.1/extra/dvb-bcm7335.ko

Those drivers provide the virtual tuner interface

Update:
we are in contact with vuplus finally and try to visit them in order to fix those broadcom virtual tuner issues (that's one step further now). We'll try to keep this up to date, also in case if it does not work out as expected.

Basically the problem is in /lib/modules/3.1.1/extra/dvb-bcm7335.ko

Anyway we try to keep digging into those things and help to fix the actual problem.

#238344 Sundtek DVC-C plus HD is DM800 Traag

Posted by sundtek on 13 December 2011 - 18:55

You might try to update the sundtek drivers, the DM800HD is using a special acceleration mode by default now which should make things a little bit better. Older drivers had a configuration option which most DM800HD users probably were not aware of.

#226252 [ET9x00] Sundtek stick werkt niet meer op nieuwe kernel

Posted by sundtek on 24 October 2011 - 14:41

Guys, install the new driver and replug the device.

We modified the driver and Firmware of the USB Stick so it does not depend on the Kernelversion anymore!

Just update and *replug* (rebooting only does not reload the USB Stick Firmware) and it will work for ALL kernel versions without the need of telling us anymore B)
