Okay, I am convinced. txt subtitles are nice. But on BBC HD dvb subtitles might still look better.

Teletekst subtitles can also be colored... that is configurable... In adition you also have the ability to autmatically select subtitles.

Oh thanks, I didn't know that there can be more than one color simultaneously. But they are sometime hard to read because of missing background. DVB subtitle background transparity can be adjusted.

What does automatic selection mean? if I switch them on on a certain channel/recording they stay switched on until I switch them off. Regardless of changing the channel/stopping the playback.

Okay, let's agree to disagree. I prefer dvb subtitles because they are coloured. So you know who's taking. :-) OTOH I noticed that the txt subtitles are sometimes notspacedcorrectlysoitisdifficulttoreadthem. Especially on 5 and co.

I think this new behaviour has been introduced by the patch "iSubtitleOutput: move python stuff into swig wrappers". Anyway, I reversed the list in AudioSelection.py. Now I have dvb subtitles first again in 99% of the cases.

Hm, I doubt that since the change by the provider would have coincided with my update. Also, more than one program family is affected (ITV, Channel 4 group, Channel 5 group and BBC). Of course the are all provided by freesat or BSkyB for that matter.
