In Topic: Some channels not found other blocky 1 west Thor Canal Digital

31 October 2014 - 18:52

Look for the "only red led problem" with VU+ Duo. Although you don't (yet) have this exact problem, it will get to this stage if you don't fix it. In short: the power supply is faulty and starts to degrade after two years of service.

I have already been through the Red led and the unit has already been repaired.

Any other ideas?

In Topic: Open Pli 4 freezes on channel change and some blocky channels

Thank you for checking Janejak. :-)

The strange thing is that all other HD channels are good, and other friends I know have exactly the same problem With those channels.

Also: Do you still have FOX HD?

Mine is gone. I only have FOX (SD) now after scanning....

In Topic: Open Pli 4 freezes on channel change and some blocky channels

I already have had my tuner repaired once.

I dont know if a capacitor has been replaced or not. I hope so.

Anyhow, the problem started right after installing OpenPli 4.

So I did a reinstall without importing old settings.

That seemed to work.

No more hangups now. So that is Nice.

As for the blockiness of some HD channels, this also occurs on all other VU+ tuners from People that I know.

Does anyone have the possibillity to check these channels:

Thor 1 West (0,8w) KU Band:

(Canal Digital)

Discovery HD Showcase (Mod: QPSK, Freq: 12015000, Symb: 300000 Hor Fec 3/4)

BBC HD (same as Discv. above)

Other HD channels on other frequencies are good.

Could there be a channel setting that is not optimal? The signal strength is 11-12 dB.

Can I manually adjust some parameters on the transponder freq?

:-)

In Topic: Use of NFI-image

21 March 2014 - 00:20

Hello.

Can anyone please point me to where I can find a valid NFI image for flashing with serial cable? I have a VU+ Duo box that is bricked due to old bootloader filled up (= red light, no booting).

Planned to use Vuutil and a null modem serial cable.

But I am unable to find a NFI file anywhere. Does not matter which version as I will reflash with a USB stick afterwards.

Thanx in advance! :-)

In Topic: MgCamd option to install when I flash with new open pli 4.0

20 March 2014 - 23:42

So now I did a new install with the latest build of Open Pli 4, and now at first glans it works fine with MGCAMD. I think that I chose v. 1.30 from the list, but It seems that 1.38c actually installs. But this time it seems that ALL Canal Digital channels on Thor decode well with this version as opposed to before when only the 1.30 version worked well with these channels.

So finally now my cards get the EMMs that CCcamd cant give, and I dont have to switch between CCcamd and MGcamd to watch/update entitlements anymore...

Finally it is like in the old days again...

Who/what ever fixed this... Thanx!!
