#1179592 End of Life annoucement

Posted by WanWizard on 21 March 2020 - 16:07

For a while now, we have been working hard on the next major OpenPLi release, OpenPLi 8.

Core of this new major release is a large OE update, from the current Yocto 2.3 (Pyro) to Yocto 3.0 (Zeus), and support for gcc v9.

To be able to build images with this new OE version, the BSP's (board support packages, or meta-layers) of the different manufacturers need to be adapted, as currently they are not compatible.

This brings us to the following challenge:

Some vendors we build images for do no longer exist, do not want to spend money updatting end-of-life hardware, or simply don't respond to support requests anymore.

Since we don't have anyone in the team with both the skills and the time to maintain BSP's, we will be forced to end the support for some brands as of OpenPLi 8.

These are:

  • Axas
  • Spycat
  • SAB
  • Xtrend
  • Miraclebox
  • Dream Multimedia
  • Galaxy Innovations
  • Golden Interstar

The good have to suffer because of the bad.

We have had people in the past retroactively changing their posts, sometimes weeks later, and this forum software doesn't have the feature to block edits one there is a reply (which imho would be the best solution).

#1175908 OpenPli 7.2 + oscam

Posted by WanWizard on 11 March 2020 - 15:01

I can't, because I have no clue what you're doing.

You get an oscam binary from "somewhere", which is build on an unknown platform with an unknown config setup, you put it on your box, it doesn't work, and now you want me to look into my crystal ball and fix whatever unknown problem you have?

Like I said, you can install oscam from the feed, and it works directly, you can also install oscam-emu from the feed, it will work directly too. There is no need to install both, as oscam-emu does exactly the same as oscam.

If testing is succesful, yes. Wouldn't be the first driver update that introduces more issues than it fixes... ;)

#1175388 OpenPLi 7.2-release available

Posted by WanWizard on 10 March 2020 - 15:27

Ah, it's not a release, it is an 7.2-rc, a test image.

If the box starts but you see a spinner, most logical assumption is you have a mount defined that no longer exists. The mount connect timeout is 120 seconds.

The question is why you insist on trying to install something "from the internet" while we supply a fully tested and working version in the feed?

#1171424 RemoteTimer

Posted by WanWizard on 29 February 2020 - 21:27

Het lijkt me stug dat een flash dit oplost:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Components/ActionMap.py", line 57, in action
    res = self.actions[action]()
File "/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Screens/EpgSelection.py", line 378, in timerAdd
if firstNextRepeatEvent and timer.isFindRunningEvent() and not timer.isFindNextEvent():
File "/usr/lib/enigma2/python/timer.py", line 52, in isFindRunningEvent
    return self.findRunningEvent
AttributeError: FallbackTimerClass instance has no attribute 'findRunningEvent'

dat verzint niet spontaan bijkomende attributen. ;)
