Sure, you can make even more recordings as the 8 transponders give you access to a lot more channels, in fact you should be able to record 20 or more channels from the 8 transponders. But that should already be possible with the 4 transponders you already get.

#589324 XTrend ET10000 with four DVB-C

The correct name would be: DVB_C_T2 Samsung rev 0.95 DNQS44CPP101A 131224 UBCH which is a regular DVB-C Tuner (TDA 10024). All cable tuners have this stupid name DVB_C_T2. The important part is the ending: 101A for cable, IDA3 for sat and 108A for DVB-C/T.
I have a DVB-C/T tuner called like this: DNOQ44SSH108A 14 06 03 GACH which identifies as Si2169.
If your store really sells this box with 4 DVB-C tuners you should kick their asses, the box won't work with this setup, you have to take one out, with 3 it will work fine. I once saw an ad on Ebay with the same text and asked them about it, they replied that they would of course ship it with 3 cable and one hybrid tuner.
The coax cables shouldn't be the biggest problem but without them it won't work, of course. Although I would expect a decent shop to deliver this box with the necessary loop-through cables for this setup.
#455744 openpli 4 time sync ! NTP

Normally the system time is taken from the selected DVB Stream from the tuner. No signal and the date reverts to 01-01-1970 upon boot. Setting the time from NTP is therefore a temporary solution.
This is part of the problem as there are plenty of transponders out there giving a wrong time. I wonder why it therefore hasn't become standard practice as I have seen in e.g. the PowerBoard image to just set the transponder with the service after boot-up as the one which time is taken and won't be affected by others with wrong times.
