#783221 [FR 5W] Missing Channels

Posted by doglover on 17 October 2017 - 09:33

No there are not missing.  However there is a problem.

Sometime ago a lot of channels on 5W changed their reference from ref. ID 1:0:1 in 1:0:16 or 1:0:19.See here: https://forums.openp...ing-epg-france/

I changed the refs accordingly.  Now you are asking me to change it back.

I am not going to do this.  Unless you can give a very good reason.

Solution:

1.  Rescan 5W, to obtain the correct service refs in your receiver.

2.  Do not use the setting in EPGimport:  Import only EPG for channels in Bouquets.  Set this option to NO pls.

Import then again.

#778858 Greek epg request

Posted by doglover on 8 October 2017 - 16:27

I see the data for this channels is missing in the XMLTV file.

In the grab log:

[  Info  ] (   2/72  ) OTETV.GR -- chan. (xmltv_id=FoxSports.gr) -- mode Incremental
[Warning ] no robots data found
[Warning ] skipped robots check
[Error   ] no shows in indexpage!

So debugging is required.

#778825 Rytec down?

Posted by doglover on 8 October 2017 - 15:48

That is the same.  There is a name confusion in some image it is called XMLTVimport and in others EPGimport.

And in EPGimport the sources are included.

#778786 Geen EPG meer

Posted by doglover on 8 October 2017 - 15:09

Vergeet dan niet eerst jouw Oscam en/of CCcam config files te saven ergens.

Dit heeft niets met EPG te maken, maar alles dat ie Uw kaartje niet meer leest.

#774814 [Italy] Missing channels

Posted by doglover on 28 September 2017 - 16:43

Can you find settinglist for Italy DVB-T somewhere on the net?

Install that.  You do not have to do anything with the bouquets.

It will overwrite your existing lamedb.  But if you have no DVB-C, DVB-T or DVB-S(2) connections that will not matter.

Otherwise, you have to rescan those.

Second solution, use custom channels list.

I have prepared the list for you, and attached.  Copy this file to the  /etc/epgimport/  folder

Now open the rytec.sources.xml file from /etc/epgimport/

and replace:

channels="rytec.channels.xml.gz"
and
channels="rytec.channels.xml.xz"

in the Italian sections (gz and xz section)  (not everywhere)

with

channels="italian.channels.xml"

A side effect of this method it will import everything from the XMLTV files, also for channels you do not have.

Willy

PS:  In the EPGimport plug-in, do not activate the setting:  Load EPG only services in Bouquet

Leave this setting at No.  It causes strange results when activated with as symptom:  Nothing imported.

Service ref is not case sensitive.  You could easily test it.  Change it to UPPERCASE.

Although, I do not know if this is also correct when you have an IPTV channel assigned to this service ref.  (never tried this)

And If it is an IPTV channel assigned to this service ref, are you sure this ref is present in lamedb?

Further, i can not see what is wrong.  Especially when you say that most channels are correct.

Willy

PS:  I noticed in the text above that the cast is listed twice.  I have fixed that.  You will see the result in any new grabbed shows.  The first 6 days will still list the above format.  The new will gradually take over.

#773410 EPGImport "improvement" - custom.channels.xml file

Posted by doglover on 25 September 2017 - 15:02

Make EPGimport search for custom.channels.xml file

These days, several users have their own channels file for some extra channels.  IPTV channels mainly.

Some of these channels are freely available on the net.  And can be played on an enigma2 receiver.

(Some use this also to receive illegal IPTV channels)

In order to provide EPG for these channels, at the moment you need to add separate import to the sources file with you own "custom.channels.xml" file

The drawback is that you then download the data files twice which is bad, I agree.

A solution is that the extra channels are  integrated it your own rytec.channels.xml.  But you lose to advantage of the on-line update of the rytec.channels.xml file.

So the idea, is to expand EPGimport capability:  it will use the normal channels file defined in the rytec.sources.xml file" but also use "at the same time" the file "custom.channels.xml" from the folder /etc/epgimport/ so the data file are only downloaded once and EPG are applied both to rytec and custom channels.

This can be accomplished by merging the downloaded channels file with the custom.channels.xml file before the actual import.  But any other solution is of course welcome

This modification is above my pay grade.  Any help (mainly doing it yourself) is welcome.

Can anybody change the XMLTVimport plug-in to perform this?

Willy

PS:  Thanks to Pr2 for suggesting this modification.

#773377 EPG for IPTV

Posted by doglover on 25 September 2017 - 13:46

Recently I am receiving a lot of request for solving problems for EPG for IPTV via PM.

This is not the way.  Pls. refrain from doing that.

EPG for IPTV is certainly possible, but it remains a pain in the behind, which involves a lot of work.  And mostly each user will need a special adapted set-up for his situation.

A general solution is not possible.

Again, there are 2 methods:

1. Re-using the the service refs from the satellite channels.

2. Making dedicated channels.xml files and dedicated sources.xml file for the EPGimport.

Lately, I am seeing requests which hussle these 2 methods.  Trying to use the first method with a dedicated sources file.

It is clear that these users do not understand the methodology involved.

Try first to understand what is involved, chose one method that suits you, and stick to it.  And above anything else stop asking me for help.

Pls. only ask for help on legal IPTV

I guess it is time to migrate now? Should we uncheck all the old sources and check only those marked xz?

That is up to you.  The small gz file's will be available up to 31/12/2017.  This to allow everbody to switch over to an xz enabled version of the plug-in.

If you have updated the plug-in and it understand xz now, there is no reason why you should not use it.  (there are a couple of sources which do not have xz files yet.  These will be availalbe on 1/10/2017)

BTW: The gz and xz files are the same, just the compression is different.  The xz files are only half the size of the gz files.

The all in one's (large files) will be stopped on 30/9/2017

The reason for splitting up the files is to give the users more influence on what to import.  Of course in this Italian case if you are from Italy you want everything, and you have to select all Italian files.  Which make no difference with the past.

However, an user from Austria or Switzerland, may only want the main Italian channels.  In the past he had to download the complete big Italian file.  Now he can only download the smaller Basic file and have all the info he wants.

This way saving on traffic on our servers.

#764443 Update of the XMLTV sources

Posted by doglover on 2 September 2017 - 12:18

The Freeview section are the channels which are listed on the freeview webpages.  Which are DVB-T channels I agree.

But this are the channels which everybody can receive.  Also those which have only DVB-T

The FTA channels are the channels on 28.2E which are really FTA on 28.2E.  Only receiver needed.

A lot of the International channels (mainly Asian and religious channels) and a binch of music channels.

The there are categories Sky Live:  which are the sky channels which can still be watched on an enigma2 receiver with a Sky subscription.

The other 2 cats Sky Dead and SportsMovies cannot be watched anymore on an enigma2 receiver.  I left them in there just for other users.

As you see the split is made on the basis of the satellite.  For Cable users this is not so relevant.

But if you find that channels are categorized in the wrong cat, please tell me so I can move them.

Do not ask me to make the splitting up on the base of a cable provider.
