Looks like it's pinned on a rev: https://github.com/O...-xmltvimport.bb

So someone needs to bump it to the new rev.

My box had no problems with the import this morning. What exactly is broken, how did you determine that, any errors?

The error doesnt stay onscreen long enough to copy it down exactly and write it here but its something like

EPGimport failed to start

none object has no attribute type ends with

this then disappears from the screen and nothing is imported.

It remains trying to import though although nothing is and to stop it from trying I have to restart enigma.

This happens when ran manually.

Ive no idea if the same errors occur if the plugin is ran automatically.

Just started a manual import. So far no problems.

What box are you running this on? What is your OpenPLi version? Is it fully up to date?

edit: just finished, no error messages.

The box is a VU+ Solo and yes its fully up to date running OpenPli 4.0 with enigma from 8-10-15

The old version of the plugin still works perfectly so its not an issue for me as i will just lock the plugin down using chattr so it cannot update when I update the image, but it would still be nice to have the extra options that are in the new version of the plugin.

This maybe an issue for others though if they have not kept a backup of the old version of the plugin before updating their image.

Ian.

Without any error information, and being unable to reproduce it, I don't whatever you have is going to be solved...

Why ?

Its obviously an error in the new code thats been added.

NoneType means that instead of an instance of whatever Class or Object you think you're working with, you've actually got none. That usually means that an assignment or function call up has failed or returned an unexpected result.

In other words NoneType is and a common way of ending up with it (i.e., failure to return a value from a function).

So its probably a missing return ?

Whatever the cause it would seem that the new code is flawed in some box type images, namely VU+

Because I can't reproduce it, it works fine here. And you're the only one reporting this issue. So how do you expect us to debug and fix your problem?

We don't even have the complete error message (including line number and file name) to start...

Ive given you all that appears briefly onscreen before it exits.

There is no crash it just doesnt work.

I will install it again and run it from telnet instead of from the remote and see if that gives anymore information.

Ian

Can you tell me please why the image understands startswith but not endswith ?

It would seem the image cannot understand the command.

so endswith seems to be missing from some box type images ?

but surely endswith is an os command ?

This is all I can come up with as after inspecting the plugin on the git it doesnt seem to be the plugin code at fault here.Other than this I'm clueless as to why this error is being thrown when the updated version of the plugin is ran yet the old version runs perfectly.

Ok forget that.

endswith is used in the old EPYImport.py so I'm out of ideas.

Previously, the plugin (my mod) worked without any mistakes.
It seems a problem with downloading files from the Internet.
