Ah, I understand. The box handels a fallbacktuner like normal tuners when a tuner is needed

But it seems that the box makes a different between local tuners and fallbacktunser by the conflict detection during timerprogramming, because on my et9000 with two local tuners and an enabled fallbacktuner I can´t programm more timers which use more than two transponders at the same time without conflicts. So I think in that case the box make a different between local and fallbacktuners. It know only the local tuners for the conflict detection

Is there no way to use fallbacktuners for timers only if all local tuners are busy with other timers?

There is no guaranteed availablility of a fallback tuner at the moment a timer starts, nor is there an option to check what a fallback tuner can exactly receive. Not to mention the fact that the box providing the remote tuner can also have no tuner available the moment your timer starts.

So it's pointless taking a fallback tuner into account when planning recordings.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

exactly, I don´t want to use fallbacktuner for recordings. But the box use a fallbacktuner (if it is enable) when a timer will start and I watch live TV on on other transponder. So my idea is the box must switch to last local tuner to the transponder for recording from the last starting timer. And then after that I can use the fallbacktuner for watching live TV. Today if we enable fallbacktuner we have the risc that a timer uses a fallbacktuner for recordings, but that was not a good strategie. Thas was allways happend if you watch live TV on a transponder, which is not the right one for the last starting timer.

When you plan a tuner only the local tuners are checked... So no issue with fallback tuner... When you watch a channel it will be interupted and the tuner zaps to hhe need recorded channel. You can zap back and then the fallback tuner can be taken...

Are you sure? You describe that what i expected?

My tests has the following different result, which is from my point of view not ok for saftey timer recordings.

I´ve programmed two timer which need two tuners on an et9200 in some minutes. There are no conflicts during progrsamming, because the two tuners can serv the two timers.

Then I watch TV on a channel whitch needs an other transponder (The box use tuner A at this time for live TV)

Some minutes later timer 1 starts and uses tuner B

My live TV runs continiously with tuner A

Some minutes later timer 2 will start but instead of interrupting live TV on tuner A the timer uses the fallbacktuner and that is not ok for safty recordings.

And if I need the other way around.

I want to watch live tv.
The current logic is correct.

Now I understand...

Then we should indeed somehow 'block' (optionally default block it) recording from fallback tuner...

But Erik did add this option.. recording from fallback tuner... and indeed these can be interrupted...

I still think the only solution here is when there is a conflict add the option 'program timer on Fallback tuner'....

Is the option  available in actual images or is that for future versions?

That means it is in the next build included and I can configure if a fallbacktuner can use for recordings or not?

great

Tomorrow evening I have time to test it at my home. I´m shure now I can use local tuners for recordings and live TV and fallbacktuner (to my other box) for situations where local tuners are busy by recordings without the need to use a manually switch to partnerbox bouquet or a remotestreamconverterbouquet.  And  the recordings on the other receiver are also safe because if timer there need tuners they abort the stream of the fallbacktuner (Live TV) That is very comfortable.

I´ve tests it now successfully. All local and remote timers are safe and the fallbacktuner is easy to use for watching live TV if local tuners are busy by recordings. Great Job
