Depends on the brand and model box.

No CI+ support for VU+. You might want to ask them.

well, i thought they do... vti can handle ci+... and they basically use vu+ code.

There is a patch to support CI+ and that patch is not public.

VTi is still 'closed', in spite of using Open Source code. Apparently VU+ accepts that (surely for commercial reasons).

openatv seems to support ci+ too.

they have a git... but the patch is probably not in there.

It is not a patch but a (closed source) binairy blob with will be inserted during the build process.

I will better NOT repeat myself that adding the authentification routines to make this closed source binary obsolete would be only cut and paste from the opensource version that DMM boxes are using and that this could be finished in a few hours.

So these arguments are simply wrong.

There is an open source ci-plus project in Newnigma board.

Here you can find more info here: http://forums.openpl...low-zap-for-ci/

Actually both, binary blob (libenigma_dvb_cix_mipsel.a) and patch (0001-ciplus-add-vu-support.patch) ;)

They use a hybrid solution where most of the code to handle the modules is OpenSource and this patch is also in OpenPLI. BUTh the critical piece to authentificate and pair the box with the module AND present this authentification to the module is kept in the closed source 'helper' binary.

Others decided to move this closed source piece into their drivers to hide even more - and then get even shoulder padding to 'better' support it because then the whole thing works 'only' with the Open source patch.

On  DMM boxes it is the other way around - the WHOLE CI handling is done in a binary with ALL sources public including the part which the others keep secret. This binary then just communicates via sockets with enigma2 like a softcam.

BUT I'm tired to explain this all over again...

It only annoys me that people say we can't do it because ... or even others do better ... THIS is ALL wrong, you have all the necessary pieces laying around since 1 year - you are just too .... (choose correct word on your own)  to put them together.

You could have saved all your energy and writing dozens of longs posts by simply replying: "here is the source: <link>".  If you know it so well, why not share it?

It is NOT my code, so why should I do that? I'm not your search engine either and you already found the links.

I had to read it and try to understand how it works to adapt my AutoPin Plugin, so maybe i know a little bit more but this is not the point here.

The Point is that I'm tired to read bad excuses which are based on wrong arguments.

Probably I could even do it myself, but I only have DreamOS based Dreamboxes which you don't support anymore and I abandoned support for OpenPLI Images years ago when you announced to stop active Dreambox support. So it would be a waste of time and energy from my side, especially as I'm a poor programmer and it would probably take me 3-4x the time I think it would take.

Finally it is not my intention ar goal to support illegal activities like breaking CI+ Authentification with stolen certificates.

Hence I'm really the last person you should ask for ANY help on this subject.

well, i guess you gave a lot of good info and insight here... gutemine. thanks.

unfortunately, i'm not at a level to exploit it... but i'm sure others here will.

Because that is how an open source community works. You support each other.

You know something others don't, but want to know. And instead of helping them, you only dangle a carrot in front of them, and repeatingly tell them how stupid they are for not being able to get hold of it.

Guess what that makes you in the eyes of everyone reading your responses...

This donkey already pulled too many waggons to places nobody else wanted to go, hence I'm sorry that I see this argument slightly different.

And telling you that your arguments and dispute runs in the wrong direction based on false assumptions is also what i would call support.
