Hello , on 8.3 version still exist problem with HDMI CEC , when switching on Vu+ Ultimo 4k , HDMI input in Denon AVR should be changed automatically into proper CBL/SAT input , like in others gears like- Bluray player , media player. On Sony oled TV signal CEC is sending properly and tv input are switch for tuner sat. With AVR this never worked !!!! Time to fix this !!!! Thanks.

Not sure what you did @ROMAN42

with my Denon AVR and the Ultimo4K HDMI-CEC works a charm.

you do need to setup the AVR of course, did you ever looked at those setting?

after some extra help with OpenPli form @Tech it works on both 8.3 and 9.0

the main problem is that you should start the chain of apparatus so the EDID is followed through by HDMI-CEC

and look at those settings in image 2

and be sure that you choose the richt color depth in the settings Audio Video in OpenPli menu, Ultimo4K does only support 10 bit

Maybe this can never be fixed at all… too many dialects on hdmi-cec.

The (basic) CEC commands are standardized.

There are a few possible issues:

  • CEC is a single TTL-level bus, along all your equipment, if one doesn't play ball, it can influence the working of the entire CEC system.
the most famous example is the Xtrend ET10000, as soon as you plug that in, CEC stops working for all boxes connected.
You can test this by disconnecting all other HDMI cables (including the one from the AVR to the TV) and see if that changes things.

  • The AVR doesn't support the port selection command, as it is part of the optional commands subset. Or has a software bug ( won't be suprised if that is the case ).

  • A configuration issue on the box.

  • The wrong timing setting on the box ( some devices take longer to process commands, and need more spacing between commands ), you can adjust that on the box.

You can install the HDMI test plugin on the box, which allows you to send some basic commands manually, and see what commands are send, and what is received.

You can use the web interface to see the UI of the box, when the AVR is not connected to the TV.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.
