Hi
At first I also wondered for a long time how to write it.
Then I thought to check the buttons on the remote,
Checked zero's button earlier and it was writing some reverse stuff,
Then I pressed number 1 button thrice and it started writing everything,
You can pick up the remote of Vu Plus Zero and check the number 1

No idea what you are doing, like I said, it is not an input field here, so no edit keys work, only left- and right arrow to select a known location, or the OK button, to select from a tree view.

Hi
If you click OK on the recording path, four options appear,
Click OK on the last option timeshift location and parent directory will open.
Click OK on this directory 4 options will open,
Then press the menu and the option to create directory will appear.
There you can write,

Why do you want to CREATE a directory?

The point is that you select an EXISTING directory to which the box can write its timeshift files. So you switch to the filelist (either via de menu or via the Channel Up button), select "<List of storage devices>", and select your USB device. Or select "Internal Flash", then navigate to "media", then select your mounted media.

If you just create a directory in media, it will either stop after 64KB (as /media is tmpfs), fill up your flash (and crash your box), and will be gone after you reboot your box (as it is tmpfs).

"options"?

The same remark applies, you just don't go and selects any random directory. As instructed, select "media", then select what is in there that points to your storage ( "usb" if you have a USB storage device ).

No, I mean you need to select mounted storage. Like I wrote:

  • In Recording Paths, go down to "Timeshift location"
  • Press OK
  • Press Menu
  • Select 1: Switch to filelist
  • Press OK when "<List of storage devices>" is selected
  • Select your USB device (should be listed above "Internal Flash"). Do NOT press OK here !
  • Press Green to save your selection

Alternatively

  • In Recording Paths, go down to "Timeshift location"
  • Press OK
  • Press Menu
  • Select 1: Switch to filelist
  • Select "Internal Flash"
  • Press OK
  • Select "media"
  • Press OK
  • Select your USB device (should be listed as "usb"). Do NOT press OK here !
  • Press Green to save your selection

I can't make it any simpler than this.

Hi
I did what you said.
It's running the same way I activated timeshift yesterday,
I don't see any difference in what you say.
But the advantage of what you said is that you don't have to write remotely
best wishes,
