Hi all, im new to the wonderful world of dreambox's - just got a dm600 which i would like to use to stream to 5 pc's in our home, could you let me know if the PLI images allow UDP streaming on the network or only one concurrent stream to one pc.

Hi There,
Thanks for the welcome, I have already been through the wiki - was looking as i was under the impression that you can UDP stream directly from the dreambox out on to a local network so more than one client could connect to the stream - all i can see from the wiki is using vlc to re-stream the feed.
So i was more after a definitive answer if PLI can UDP stream its self or if there were any other images out there that can forfil this task.

if you mean multicast, afaik a dreambox can't do that (yet).
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

actually I believe somebody did that, compile multicast support into the kernel.
Discussed that on the forum a while ago, so a search might find it.

There is someone who adjusted streamts to do multicasting. Don't remember his name though. He charged some money for it though.

No, not possible. The Dreambox has not enough power to recode the stream to another format.On another streamng note - is it possable to change the streaming format?
