Well i was try the openpli late from today for DM600PRV.
I have to say that after put my box in stop mode and browse to the image and after hit flash button my lan was dead and uploading process stoped! After that i was not able anymore to flash my box!
After that i was use nullmodem cable and with Dreamup i was upload and install the latest openpli image!
Well but after restart my box dont boot! Green and Red led was light and not boot!
Finally i was revert to Jade3 and everything was working again!
Umm i dont know what is wrong but latest openpli not working for me!
I have original german DM600PVR!

It is a long time that something was changed to E1 and this is the only complaint. So currently I do not have any suggestions. In addition it is strange that the lan was dead using the webinterface... this cannot be PLi related...

Hmm i see! But that not happen if i try to install Jade3! I think something is wrong with the bootloader or something!
The situation is like that:
When i was try to use web interface my DM600 LAN card was turn off! That stopped the process!
When i use dreamup and nullmodem cable and after dreamup upload the loader to the box the LAN is start again so i can use it!
Ummm LAN has something to do with the bootloader! Since i know Jade3 use another bootloader but Openpli use different one is it possible to be bootloader issue? Because with Jade3 installed everything is work OK!

I had exactly the same issue on my dm600 this weekend
tried openpli 20091227
green and red light no boot after dreamup serial cable

went back to jade3 6555 - no problems

my gut feeling was issue with clone 600

are you absolutely sure you have an original dm600 ?

Well at least i was buy it for an original one! The price was 3 times higher than clone one! Is there a way to test it is it clone?

well since i dont live in Germany when i was buy it from the shop the software was changed to Gemini.
So i was never install original image! Umm and now umm i dont think is good idea to install it anyway! How do you think?

I never installed original image on my 600 - so I cant give advice on that

pli testers had access to daily builds on earlier images
now everyone has access to daily builds on openpli

6555 daily build of Jade just happened to be the last one which I installed on all my boxes and tested thoroughly

is there funtionality in openpli which you are missing in Jade 3

Well not at the moment! But i wish i can disable the internal EPG reader and also to be fixed DVB subtitles! That maybe will happen in openpli but i cant install that

Can you confirm openpli not work ONLY on clone DM600?

When DMM has new drivers blocking clones and we use the latest drivers it can indeed be that PLi is not working on clone DM600 boxes. Please note that in near future all images will not perform. However you should still be able to downgrade the bootloader manually by installing a ipk including only the bootloader.

Yes i guess yo9u are right! But i want toknow is curent openpli edition do not work on clones or problem is somewhere else!
About bootloader....what version i should use and from where i can get it? Will it work with openpli latest?

OpenPLi images uses the latest that is available, and that includes the bootloader. I'm pretty sure it won't run on a clone. You should be able to replace the bootloader, but no guarantees that everything works with an old bootloader...

Where can i download this images for my dm600 please?

My mistake just reread the thread it seems the Jade3 6555 is the latest beta for the dm600.

no, for OpenPLi the latest is always todays.
Check the 'nightly builds' menu

I can confirm that latest OpenPLI Image (28.01.2010) doesn't work on a DM600 clone. Green and red light stay on and nothing shows on screen. I assume it's because of a new bootloader being used in OpenPLI now?

Would it be possible for someone to release a version that works for clones? The reason I'd like OpenPLI is because latest release of Jade 3 has various issues, the main ones being

1) inability to format HDD, tested using Nabilo Darkstar 2 image and worked fine so it's got to be a software issue, and
2) Web-X-TV doesn't work properly, just has a blank screen, and there is no problem with the PC as it works fine on DM500 with both Jade and OpenPLI.

I'm hoping the OpenPLI would have these issues sorted but again, can't test it because OpenPLI doesn't boot on a clone DM600.
