Had contact with Mamba, but he doesn't do anything different.
Probably, the difference is that his grabber is running in a separate process, and thus doesn't take enigma with it when it keels over. So that appears to be the "solution".

The grabber is only using "leftover" CPU cycles, so it uses 100% CPU if possible, but that shouldn't affect other things... Not using 100% CPU will not improve your performance at all, it will just reduce the quality of the rendering.
Is your timeshift located on a USB device? That might explain something...
