I have tried most of the HD skins on PLi and find them excellent.

2 things that I think would be of help are

The sat name or position on the info bar.

When in the bouquets it would be nice to see the Sat the channels are on.

Currently you see

Sky News
Sky News
Sky News
Sky News
Sky News
Sky News etc

It would be nice to see for example
Sky News (13oE)
Sky News (23.5oE)
Sky News (28.2oE)
Sky News (1oW) etc

(these are not actual channels, its just to make a point)


Are the skins in PLi by PLi team members or by externals, Where would be the best place to make requests to the creators.

I currently like the dTV-HD-Reloaded and the BrushedAlu-HD skins.

Id like them even better if the items above were in them.

I'll add to that, that I would like to have the channel number in the info bar somewhere. For instance, channel 4 is RTL4 HD, so just a simple '4' in there would be nice

Has anyone had any luck with alternate skins or editing skins on OPENPLi.

I use the BrushedAlu-HD skin which I really like but want to see the SAT position (13.0e, 28.2e) on info bar. Second info bar is not supported on most of the openpli HD skins.

Also as in previous post having 10 of the same channel and not knowing what sat its on is annoying.

Is there anyone in the PLi Team that manages and maintains the skins on PLi that could help.

Or is there a way to contact the skin creators for their help or guidance.

I could only find 1 thread on Skins on the VU English forum but it doesnt cover much only 1 skin that was tested with little instruction and about packaging a skin.

I have seen that people have had issues manually installing other enigma 2 skins on openpli on VU+ so I wondered if a thread could be started by those in pli team that have experience in the skins that are available in plugins menu for openpli and how they can be modded or edited for VU+.

I like openpli and pli before that on my old 7020 because its simple and works (dont like pimped look on some) but would like to get my feet wet with guidance by those that know.

There a two problems with that, which is probably why it wasn't implemented:

1. There is no efficient reverse lookup for channel numbers, so given a channel, the software will have to search through the list until it encounters the given channel, counting as it goes. This may dramatically slow down your zap speed, especially if you have a rotor so that it has to search 4000 channels...

2. Channels don't really have numbers, and can occur in multiple positions. It is annoying to type "101" on your remote and then see "51" on the display as the channel number.
