In VU+ Duo with PLI image, how can I assign a channel to a specific emu? When using CCcam, i.e., but I want to use mgcamd for a special channel, so that VU+ switches automatically the emu that is to use...

The is no switch in emu's channel specific in PLi E2. Why do you need this, for which channel?

I need this, because I use CCcam as deault CAM. But, espacially on OSCAM card is not updated with CCcam, but with mgcamd. The idea now is to program a timer that every night at a certain time, the VU+ switches to a specific channel where I want to send EMM. Automatically the box should switch to mgcamd when switching to this channel. This is the background. Is there a chance to see EMU switching on E2 PLI??

Thx in advance.

no change as it is not functional

you cant run 2 softcams at the same time, so that will cause lots of problems with multiple tuner boxes

on the Glassfibre 1GB DVB-C...

Nono, sorry for misunderstanding. I don't want o run both CAM's at the same time. The default CAM should be killed and new CAM should be started. When leaving the specific channel, switching to default CAM should happen again.

So, any chance?

Softcams in OpenPLi are simply services, and can be controlled from the command line etcetera.

Just write a cron job to switch softcams at a certain time, e.g. one that runs the following commands:

/etc/init.d/softcam.CCcam stop
/etc/init.d/softcam.mgcamd start

Add the zap timer, and add another crontab entry to stop mgcamd and start CCcam.

You can run mgcamd, cccam and oscam at the same time. When you arrange that CCcam runs first, CCcam will encode the picture. When you run mgcamd after CCcam it will not encode the picture but still will be able to upgrade your special card in Oscam (I do not understand why CCcam does not).

Not true, tried it right now. The last emu started will decode channel and send EMM...

Maybe I have to try cronjob solution :-(
But, how do I get cronob PLI image? Is there a plugin to install it?

Google for the "crontab" manual.

"crontab -e" lets you edit the current crontab.

The last emu started will decode channel

Not true. The first emu claiming the hardware to forward the CWs will decode.... The other emu will work but is not able to forward CWs to the hardware.

Try it, and you will see...

Google for the "crontab" manual.

"crontab -e" lets you edit the current crontab.

Already tried "crontab -e". Doesn't work here...

Try it, and you will see...

I did try several times.... strange???

It may be that you are misleaded that mgcamd overrights the ecm.info file from CCcam and visa versa...

When I run CCcam first, connection to (Oscam-)server is established. Running mgcamd afterwards, connection to (Oscam-)server is established but CCcam connection is lost! For both clients I use different logins, of course.
Therefore, decryption is taken ONLY from the last started emu (mgcamd)...

Am I doing something wrong??

No, multicam is not supported.

Your VU+ is a twin tuner.
It's impossible to operate 2 cams at the same time.
You could need cam X for 1 channel and cam Y for another, recording 1 channel while watching another.
Since both cams would like to get access to your cardreaders things start colliding.
So it's not possible for now.

Thx Roodkapke!

I followed now suggestion of Milo, and have to say that it works great! Thx a lot.

Just one more question: i want to use "nano" as default editor (i.e. when using "crontab -e") because it is much more comfortable as vi. I installed nano, but how can I switch default editor? I didn't see any /etc/alternatives!

Pls help, thx.

Hi!

Ok, I edited /home/root/.profile with the lines

EDITOR=/usr/bin/nano
export EDITOR=/usr/bin/nano

and now my favorite editor is set as default. Thx to all!!
